"I struggled to order a home test this week .... never had an issue before (I’m part of a study group and they ask me to test randomly as lockdown eases)" I rarely order the home kit as live close to a test centre and the results are quicker x so cant comment on that

To be honest I think a home test would be less traumatic for a young child I know my boys would be easier to test at home. All my postals have been back within 48 hours of posting. I know schools are meant to be receiving a stock of tests to give to parents when sending children home due to suspected covid but unsurprisingly no tests have been received yet.

"I’ve been working at various pop up testing centres for the last 3 weeks and we average 200 tests per centre each day, over the past week there’s been an increase in children getting tested some as a precaution and others with symptoms and sent home from school until they get their results back and the whole family being tested at the same time, it’s a simple procedure and extremely safe too. When I asked how long the sites will be operational the answer was how longs a piece of string!" Do you administer the test or do they administer themselves? I don’t know how the centres work....

" We log everyone who wants testing then trained testers (usually nurses) do the test, it takes longer to clean down after each person than it does to do the actual test, data is sent with the completed tests on a daily basis, site deep cleaned each evening too and results are coming back in about 36 hours in East Lancashire and we’ve ranked up testing in the last month, from today doorstep tests will be offered in Blackburn for high risk areas and will be rolled out in East Lancashire next week when all training has been done, feel free to pm me if you want more info

"Was listening to the news on the radio this morning and apparently they are worried about the possibly pressure the test centres will be under with the kids back at school. " It's a slow news day, they have to make up something.
