A story doing the rounds is that meat smells like petrol. That's not a loss of sense of smell. That's a fucked up sense of smell

Apparently the loss of smell is first, the fucked up smell part is the nerves regrowing, some horrible tastes listed

My sense of smell is totally weird since I had it. Lost a lot of taste sense as well, can't taste sweet and salty any longer

Yep it's been giving a medical name "parosmia".

Beef like petrol and wine tasting of rotten apples it doesn't sound nice.

And that was after just getting a mild dose of covid

i heard it on the radio,one woman got such a bad smell from coffee she felt sick when she smelled it she could not drink it anymore

I've not liked the smell of beef since I was a kid, so the petrol smell could actually be an upgrade for me...

Our brain and nervous system is an incredible structure. It creates everything that we perceive as being real, though it's just our inner fabrication. It's the area that should be at the centre of attention whenever we think that we've experienced something that's extraordinary and otherwise understood to potentially be impossible. The ghosts and paranormal etc that we encounter are a key area where we where we should assume that it could primarily, or entirely be the results of our nervous system. We seem to rush to ignore the elephant in the room too readily.

Impacts, such as damage, to our nervous system often cause anomalies and frequently are how we have come to understand the more precise architecture and functionality of it. The weird ir uncomfortable can be great ways for us to learn about ourselves.

When I had the virus I lost my sense or taste and smell for a week

I could eat food I cant stand lol.

I just lost sense of taste/smell entirely, then after about 10 days, it slowly came back. No period of weird taste. I realised something was amiss while eating Thai red curry and I couldn't taste it. Thai red curry, coffee, porridge, green tea, beans, cum - every single thing that passed my lips tasted exactly the same and had no texture. The taste was of absolutely nothing at all. My nose wasn't congested or anything and I felt otherwise utterly fine for about 3-4 days, then I got a blinding headache and really exhausted. No cough, slight temp for 24hrs, that's it. Positive NHS antibody test earlier in August so was definitely Covid-19.

That story originated from a couple of chavs that over did the super unleaded on the bbq so not really credible.

Have a bottle of rum straight from the bottle.

Couldn't taste a thing lol.

But got very d*unk very quick

I lost my sense of taste and smell 3 years ago after a serious viral infection. Couldn't stop coughing. The pain was unbearable with every cough. I was ill for 3 months and not given anything. Id say this was COVID but who knows. All I know is I had every symptom but still here. Taste and smell not fully back after all this time
