Well thats not right, people should just respect others chooses.

If someone wants to wear a mask then let them and respect it and same goes for people that choose not to.

Lets be honest though no one was wearing masks at the height of the pandemic and people only wear them now because some stranger on the tv told them too, if the same stranger on the tv says tomorrow or next week or next month people no longer need to wear face masks then they will stop wearing them (well the majority would).

Most people only have them on not because they think its keeping them safe but because they dont want to be seen not following what everyome else is doing.

I agree with you but even if they only wear masks to conform it helps, this is gatherings of 50 plus with no masks and no social distancing and no intention of ever doing so, I sort of guessed it would happen but it was shocking to see their attitudes

I don't think in the example you quote that the participants were rejoicing in their idiocy and implicating God in their lack of commonsense.

There are some of us who can understand the (limited) evidence behind the wearing of masks alongside SD and hand washing.

It's now a moot point that we weren't wearing masks at the peak - 1, considering the majority of people complied with "stay at home" and 2, that time has passed now and cannot be changed.

I'm in Prague at the moment and how wonderful it is not to have to wear a mask practically anywhere. I went to a classical music concert last night where the concert hall required a mask to be worn, other than that, no masks in bars, shops or restaurants.

It feels like normal here except for the lack of crowds of tourists.

I wear a mask because the WHO guidelines clearly stated from the beginning of the pandemic to wear one...it was our government that didn’t catch up quickly enough.

That was mostly fine during full lockdown when many people were naturally isolated from each other. Now that we are mixing far more and shops are open again, it makes sense to mitigate risk of transmission as much as possible, even in a tiny way like wearing a mask and not having sex with strangers on swinging sites - the amount of abuse I’m currently getting in my inbox for stating that I won’t for that reason, is just ridiculous.

I’ve had the dreaded c-19 and a member of my family has died from it. It’s horrible...I genuinely don’t remember nearly two weeks of my life and I’m fit, healthy and strong, and didn’t even get it that badly.

Given we don’t know how long immunity lasts, I’ll wear a mask as research indicates that it has a tiny effect in lowering transmission rates. To avoid the fate of myself or my family member, I genuinely don’t care how tiny the effect, if it avoids me passing it on to just one other person, then it’s worth it. It won’t be forever, it’s just for now. And I desperately wanted to go to the BLM protests but stayed away for the same reason.

Bumpy ride is an understatement, I fear, OP
