It seems this M25 closure was an excercise the government discussed. No concrete plan to do it.

There must be so many contingency plans that have been discussed and even researched. Hopefully they have been looking at methods that have brought about successful reducing of spikes that have been employed by other countries. I'm assuming they would not go down routes like those employed by China.

I read about this last week

Stopping the m25 will only be one way of blocking people coming in and out of london,it will damage the economy so very doubt it will happen

They will have to block every A and B road all around london at every entrance, and every train journey in and out of london

It will be an impossible task

It would also make it impossible for people to commute to work.

Central

Raised and laughed at last week

It would as good as shut the economy, with imported food food not getting to the North in sufficient quantity, for starters. Loo rolls last time, this would cause shortages like never before.

Lol I like the "rush hour crush" (I think that's what it's called) bit.

Swindon

Having driven into Dagenham 5 x over the last week around the M25 from the west, due to road works it is almost impossible to plot a course out of the dump.

I think that Boris might have been watching the TV adaptation of Good Omens. They can seal off London by converting the M25 into an encircling wall of hellfire... This will prevent even airborne transmission of the virus, with the flames sterilising the very air that flows in and out of the capital.

I just don't see it happening

Then again i would never have believed what happened so far since March,if you asked me last year,so I'm no expert

If this forum relied on experts it would be a lot quieter.

Banbridge and Dublin

Clearly the story is based on a concept that has been floated around.

What is realistic is the inner workings of government would be isolated from the rest of the country under such a curfew.

Assuming the government did this, are we really to believe that the MPs and civil service would be taking one for the team to protect the rest of the UK?

Didn't think so.
