Not hugely surprising.

There are a number of old herbal books which drug companies delve into from time to time with good results.

Did you know that aspirin was originally harvested from willow bark and was mentioned by a chap called Culpepper back in the 1600's..?

Interesting stuff.

I am sorry but this is just a news release of university research. These things are trumped up and sensationalised by the media. It's skimpy on details, just some early stage laboratory experiments.

In reality, new antibiotics approved for clinical use are very rare and hard to come by which is why antimicrobial resistance is such a threat.
