"The cruise ship Industry is in great danger as well" Also the shops in ports such as Greenock and Invergordon where they dock, and the coach companies who transport the passengers. Each year Scotland gains £108 million from the cruise industry. Zero since March.

"Yes, health has to take priority over travel, but airlines were already on the brink Will Ryanair, jet2, easyJet etc pull the plug on the UK or worse go into administration ?" I suspect not the end of it. But it will hopefully lead to more responsible travel at an appropriate cost. Travel is wonderful but its become an every day experience rather than a luxury and perhaps less travel is a good thing in the long run.

If they aren't there then guess what ?" If Emirates are doing it for me Seriously though, I still won't use ryan air. Even if I'm looking for a cheap European get away I untick any ryan air option in searches. Predominantly my flights are to Dubai and out or over to the U.S (Kenya/Gambi is next on the list) so unless Ryan air expanded recently they don't come up on my radar

German Aida cruises start test cruising in August going to only german ports as long as their crew stop testing positive, will P&O and cunard do only uk ports I wonder if they decide to test sail

"I believe most will survive, although with much reduced route availability I won't fly ryan air. I don't even price check to include them. I do think Emirates will capitalise here in the longer term, I have nothing against Emirates though. (I've got 5 flights booked with them in December) I do think the prices and incentive tui and such, have on offer right now won't last though, it is silly cheap I won't stop travelling, I'll obviously slow down if prices rise massively " They will survive , as with retail the ones failing had bad business models it was only a matter of time. Agreed emirates will capitalise, I’ve been flying economy with them and if you book a twin seat in the nice bit upstairs it’s as good as VA/BA Prem and 1/3 of the price plus they fly from Birmingham. The only downside is they don’t have the lounges or rewards of VA/BA. There’s no need to use Ryan Air unless you’re on a majorly tight budget , for an extra £30 you can have a proper flight with Norwigen or KLM or something like that. Even Wizz or Easy Jet is better, Ryan Air have lost the plot in recent years.

Agree I would never fly Ryanair given a choice, but the reason a decent flight is 30 more is because they are competing against Ryanair. Ryanair gone means the others out prices up simple

Flying from east midlands to Italy I'm somewhat limited. Saying that the only time I've had an issue with a flight was on a Thomas cook one last year . If going from London I tend to fly Alitalia x

Plus Birmingham, Manchester even stansted and luton are all easy to get with public transport you don’t have to use EMids. Only Gatwick and Heathrow are a trek. For Italy Jet2.com fly Pisa and Verona from Notts and easy hey do Naples from Birmingham.

I can get a family to drop me at east mids. Plus it's not like I'm travelling luxury if I go from other places. I only ever take hand luggage too. In fact next trip it's a rucksack only. So why should I pay more than i have to. I got to milan for 9.99 last time I went.
