Just a thought but if you could trust people to leave 14 days between meets, then you would all know, to a certain extent, that your playmates were covid free. You can't guard against anyone who is asymptomatic but it's a start.

Many on here have gone years between meets, this does not mean they may be covid free.

The person would have to self isolate, so no going out, not being near anyone at all. As would you. And you would have to trust the other actually did it as well.

I'm being tested every single week. Yet it still doesn't guarantee complete safety.

It sounds logical but the reality is quite different.

We were in lockdown for three months with practically no contact outside your home. If you were infected, you should have recovered by now and not transmitted it to anyone. If you were uninfected, you should have remained uninfected.

By this argument, there should be zero cases in the UK left but that's clearly not what we see now.

If I've understood you, I think I agree with the sentiment

. But of course we've had lots of people breaking lockdown, some who you could argue should not have been like the beaches and the protests and the celebrations etc and then you've got those key workers who kept us going for the first few months. Had we been a bit stricter with our lockdown I suspect there would be less infections in the community but we weren't and we haven't so we just have to hope we can keep it under control.

The whole country didn't lock down, millions still went to work and it got passed around

You can barely trust some people to wear a condom in a dark room never mind hide away for 14 days
