How its gone from 900 deaths per day to 100 in 6 weeks or so, after we had riots, football fsns out celebrating in their 000's etc. Im now of the ilk of fuck it. And this mask bullcrap... dont need in a pub, but do in shops, but not till friday. Is the virus on holiday till friday. Yet more places are reopening. I do believe there is an illness, but the severity of it is bollox in my opinion. And yes, i do know folks who have had it. " have to agree with you.yea there is a virus out there yes its killed people but do think they have fucked up about how dangerous it is to the majority of peeps and have fucked the economy when they didnt need to.as for the masks i agree with you.we didnt need them at the height of it but now we do but not till the end of the week.personaly think the masks are to get people out again as they have scared half the population shitless.more a placebo effect than anything else.

"Glad to see people waking up. I suggest that you start watching UK Column News for information rather than the BBC and the controlled newspapers. Their news programs are on the internet at 1.00 pm on Mondays' Wednesday and Fridays. You can also watch back editions where they go through much of the background to CV19. Just Google for them." Exactly, sheep is what they want. Supermarkets no Cov deaths yet most visited as its sooo safe yet from Friday we need a mask

" Is a cashless society so bad?" In principle no but in reality it gives the banks far far to much control. Asude from the fact every purchase can be tracked, one computer feck up and you cant buy food to feed yourself.

I like cash for some things too. I find it odd to be asked to pay by card for something for 90p last week. It does seem to be more common but I am not sure the virus is made up so we all pay by card

I do believe there is an illness, but the severity of it is bollox in my opinion. And yes, i do know folks who have had it. " A couple of thousand liverpool fans celebrating winning the premier league isn't going to make a dent in the figures. At that point, approx 1 in 1500 across the UK were reported to be contagious. Even if that meant people, they were outside and standing within 1m of someone who is positive doesn't automatically mean transmission. The same applies to riots. Compared to the whole population the number of rioters was small and again they were outside and transmission would have been low. If you want to look at the figures, who is to say that the 100 a day wouldn't have been 99. Even so, that's 99 dead people. Every day. But yes, every government across the world has joined in on this mass agenda we know nothing about. All the clever scientists have also been sucked in. The Friday thing is simply to give people the time to get hold of masks. The same applied in Scotland. Maybe Johnson and Sturgeon are in on this together? Now, that really makes the 'agenda' idea of yours ridiculous!

For some reason I don't think OAPs or those with existing illnesses were likely to go out rioting or celebrating Arsenal's 2-0 on the weekend. Also you don't know that nobody caught it from going to those events, it might just have caused less deaths because of a younger, healthier crowd. Re the masks only being introduced from Friday, that was probably to give people time to get prepared/get a supply of masks. You can't just spring a massive new rule like that on people overnight or it might lead to... Oh wait, more riots. Especially in this country

"I'm not sure what to think I've known people whom have lost people thru it and I fear for love ones I really don't get some disisions made by our government masks by Friday makes no sense in supermarkets but not pubs or offices and as others say why now I think potentially the only conspiracy initially was the powers that be not having the balls to say look we ain't got a clue what to do and still don't seem to have one or a convincing plan of what to do next it's put many I know out of business to and some to brink of madness or worse as to if it's been overplayed I guess time will give us the answer hope we all get through it stronger and learn something x" The pub thing does make sense. You can't wear a mask to eat or drink. But the economy was getting worse every day that the leisure industry stayed shut. So it's the lesser of two evils to get people out and spending money while keeping 1m+ distance without masks rather than have us stay home and make the economy even worse. It's much harder to social distance in a supermarket where people are constantly on the move and needing to walk past each other in the aisles, hence the masks.

Funny that, the statistics still say public transport usage is down dramatically. At the beginning there wasn't evidence that masks were effective, now there is. There's this thing called research, you find more out about something.

"Public transport IS hugely down. If you're pretending it's anything like it was usually you're deluding yourself. At certain times it peaks a little bit, as you'd expect - but usage is far lower than usual. All my colleague can get seats where they'd usually be standing. " This is true. The mismanagement of the public transport system system in London has been one of the biggest fuck ups so far.

"Oh hang on, let me just go and tell my friend, who had to buy her child, that it's not real, she will be so relieved! Bury" That's really sad to hear. I agree there is a lot of information the public doesn't know, but it's beyond insulting to all the people who have lost loved ones when people say Coronavirus is nothing and a big conspiracy. An 11 year old died a while back, all alone in hospital and was buried without his family there. He had no underlying health problems before the virus killed him. This virus is real and can be devastating, however I am sceptical as to how the virus spread. I don't believe we have been told for sure how it got out.

There are people who will just always need an excuse to be and angry and there's no point in trying to convince them with rational, logical explanations. I know I will not be trying anymore. Even when they/their families start being personally affected by covid they will probably still find a way to blame it on the "big brother state" as opposed to the disgusting prevalence of selfishness occurring in our society at the moment. And this mask bullcrap... dont need in a pub, but do in shops, but not till friday. Is the virus on holiday till friday. Yet more places are reopening. I do believe there is an illness, but the severity of it is bollox in my opinion. And yes, i do know folks who have had it. " Sure each government wants to cause their economies to crash makes sense. The spread of the virus is faster than ever globally. The death rate in the UK is lower because firstly R has reduced which means its being passed on to less people. Secondly, there will be some immunity with the millions who have had it. Thirdly as with seasonal flu in the warmer weather it's not as strong. Come winter this could kill 100k+.

It was explained to me as a mutation or a manipulation of the original, not exactly the same. It uses the antibodies you've built up as a key to get into cells. Your body doesn't recognise enough difference to attack them. For those who don't have the flu vaccine antibodies, it's seen and handled by our immune system just like or very similar to any other flu.

Well 8% is over 5 million and 45,000 is less than 1% of that. Statistics can be used to make any result In 2018, flu, the common and garden everyday type of flu of the seasonal type found that 650,000 people die globally which is 0.009% of the population and that's a typical year. Up to now, less than 500,000 which is about 000.6% of the global population. I appreciate you've heard 8% of the population but I personally think its a lot higher, more in the region of 70%

" Maybe you should go and tell the familys of the 45.000 + people who have lost someone they love, who's lives will never be the same again that the virus has been "blown out of proportion". I agree about the masks thing, it should have been rolled out long before now also should be a blanket roll out to include pubs/bars/restaurants and gyms. I very rarely use cash anyway and couldn't care less if what I buy can be tracked... something tells me big brother doesnt care i brought 12 cans of magners and 2 bottles of milk from my local shop yesterday.... also if we go to a cashless society Lloyd's might finally give me a contactless card lol x

"Sweden clearly proved that there was no need for a lockdown. In particular shutting down schools was a big mistake. Closing down primary schools may have been unnecessary as a recent Swedish study suggests that keeping them open had no impact on contagion. There was no measurable difference in the number of coronavirus cases among children in Sweden, where schools were left open, compared with neighboring Finland, where schools were shut, the research showed. A working paper, published by the Public Health Agency of Sweden and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, compares the two countries’ approach to education during the pandemic. Sweden and Finland adopted very different strategies to tackle Covid-19, with the former choosing to avoid a full-blown lockdown and the latter imposing tough social distancing. But there was no difference in the overall incidence of the laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases in children aged between one and 19-years-old in the two countries, indicative data from the study shows. Finnish children returned to school in May after two months of remote learning and national infection rates have continued to decline since then. Contact tracing in primary schools in Finland found hardly any evidence of children infecting others, according to the research paper. A Swedish comparison of cases among daycare and primary school staff, found that there was no increased risk for teachers, compared with risk levels in other professions." **"...Sweden clearly proved that there was no need for a lockdown..."** No, it actually proved that there 'was need' for a lock down.

In any case the risk of transmission in outside settings is low compared to indoor settings. Secondly, lots of the protesters were wearing face coverings. Those two issues put together would reduce the risk of transmission to a very low level, making it unlikely to see a sharp rise in infection.

"the ONS reckon about 8% of the population have had this so far.... 8% of the population.... 45000 deaths so far.. and you think its been blown out of control... really!!!! see... i see a lot of people concentrating on the mortality rate, remember its still approx 10 times more lethal than the flu... but thats an aside to the other point i was going to make... go an look at the hospitalisation rate... people may not be dying, but they are being admitted and it is still causing lot term issues.... but heck... trip to the hospital, staying in, no biggie right???? Well 8% is over 5 million and 45,000 is less than 1% of that. Statistics can be used to make any result In 2018, flu, the common and garden everyday type of flu of the seasonal type found that 650,000 people die globally which is 0.009% of the population and that's a typical year. Up to now, less than 500,000 which is about 000.6% of the global population. I appreciate you've heard 8% of the population but I personally think its a lot higher, more in the region of 70%" Your source for the 70% figure? We are better using data from published peer reviewed studies. The op claimed a global conspiracy was underway - there have been a lot of conspiracy theory posts in this virus section since the start of the pandemic. It would have been wise for him to have read some or all of them, prior to posting. The world wasn't very well prepared for this - we've had to learn as we go. The UK has been doing random tests on thousands of the population, to validate the incidence rates of current infections and volume of people with antibodies. These figures are the best that we have for the incidence rate here. Many of the conspiracy theories spread alarm, which isn't good at a time of major public distress. Not good for anyone!

"I saw this posted elsewhere. A cashless society means no cash. Zero!! It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means: * If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through. * Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash. * No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays. * No more money in birthday cards. * No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning. * No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting £20 a week away for. * No more nixers on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table. * No more charity collections. * No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return. * No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones. What a cashless society does guarantee: * Banks have full control of every single penny you own. * Every transaction you make is recorded. * All your movements & actions are traceable. * Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords. * You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every euro in your possession. * The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase. * If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’. If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash & that has nothing to do with a virus, nor has this ‘dirty money’ trend. " ive seen this elsewhere but if you break it down most of it is just trying to create some nostalgic attachment to notes and coins we would not be getting rid of money, a cashless society just means literally that... no cash you can still teach kids value of money digitally, do an odd job and be transferred payment digitally , can still gift and buy and sell and donate money digitally , for years now even buskers and fringe performers gave had apple pay because they knew people carrying cash was reducing the government controlling your purchases and creating 3 weeks delays while they ask questions is speculative fear mongering so that just leaves the illegal activity and cash in hand under the table don’t declare it ... wont ever convince me its worth keeping cash to keep that crap alive

I work as a mobile Engineer. Everyday I work in a different location. So, I'm working north, south, east and west every week. I don't have fixed hours of work, I work at different times of the day so I use the underground at different times i.e - rush hour and outside of rush hour. I don't just use a single underground line, I use 6 or more different lines every week. As you can see my use of the London underground is 'quite extensive' and not like the 'one-off' you have done so far. As such, I am in a far better position to say what is happening on the underground than you do. And let me also point you to other factors which prove that the London underground is 'not packed' now like it use to. 1. Some people have lost their jobs due to the crisis and therefore don't use public transport to go to work anymore. 2. Some people who have kept their jobs are still working from home, and so no need to use the underground to commute to and from work. 3. Most schools are still shut. 4. Some people are still shielding and so they don't go out and use the underground. 5. We don't have lots of tourists visiting London at this time due to the pandemic, which in turn means less tourists using the underground this time compared to say last year or previous years. 6. The government has advised people to use their own cars if they can rather than use public transport. Some people are doing that and have been avoiding using the underground. Based on my own personal experience of using the underground, plus the 6 points I have mentioned above, I can confidently say that the London underground is 'not packed' as you claim. As I said before, you are just 'making things up' - just like some of the other conspiracy crackpots on this thread.

" Can’t pick and choose which similar type of gathering is acceptable just because of the reasons behind it. " Erm... that's exactly how all decisions are made - there's a reason behind it. It could be that the information was found to be wrong later, but we all make wrong decisions from time to time. Our love affair with asbestos and thalidomide shows that.

"My mate sent me a video from a night club in Krakow (poland) Believe me , these folks are still in 2019 and never heard of covid yet. Full house , everyone partying hard. At least 1500 people in there. Social distancing?? Is it a drink??? The bar is crowded!!! No masks or whatsoever! surprisingly, no spike in daily cases, its just steady low. I dont know what is happening in the world anymore...." yeah... my old college town in the states, East Lansing, Michigan.. Home of Michigan State University there is a bar in the town called Harpers... they opened back up with very little of the social distancing and mask restrictions.... and people started feeling ill... one after another after another.... that night in "Harpers" ended up accounting for 150 primary cases of covid (which means it can be traced directly from being there on that specific night) plus another 100 secondary cases (those who caught it from people who had been to harpers on that specific night!) harpers has in unnerving record of being the single biggest outbreak in the US outside of a factory!

"It isn't just in this country that the Covid is causing havoc, do you think all countries leaders are in cahoots to make us pay by card? Yep. World wide big brother. Cashless society, so no backhanders, no cash gifting without it being known about. Tax tax tax I deleted that to add more....now you look like you are a physic Is a cashless society so bad? Yes. Itd be horrendous.imagine having to starve because you lost your card, or you cant get fuel to get to work. Fraud will go totally through the roof even more than now. Plus its just another way of having everyone under constsnt surveilance. Invisible cctv. Probably even use it to fine you for speeding, if you get from fuel stop a to fuel stop b 5 mins before you shouldve done You wouldn't starve, you would just go into a bank with ID, get cash out and they send for a new card. To the rest, cameras are already there for that, especially on Motorways How do you draw cash out in a cashless society? Duh @ me, you are right, a total cashless society you won't be able to draw out money. I suppose we could make sure we have some soup in a cupboard for an emergency of losing a card / have a second account / joint card to use/ have a friend or family member to bail you out until a card turned up or the banks account for the likes of this and get a new card out to someone quicker than they do now. I don't get the worry though, I would rather have some money in my purse but I think it will end up going cashless eventually Not having cash in your purse is only a small part of the issue. The main problem is the implications of giving up your privacy and paving the way for governments and banks to control our lives. I have already posted a link to how this can happen ut herevis another https://www.businessinsider.com/china-social-credit-system-punishments-and-rewards-explained-2018-4 One poster here said they didnt care if the gov know he has bought 12 beers, in China playing/buying too many video games can affect your childs ability to get into a good school and multiple other things referenced in the link above. It is social engineering on steroids and when you look at another posters view of being happy to jump on this slippery slope in the name of stopping cash in hand work what comes next? Will buying 12 beers more frequently than 'allowed'/'acceptable' have you classed as an alcoholic? Then your driving license be cancelled and hospitals wont treat you? Sure this is an extreme and maybe ridiculous example but if your read the link i gave it is possible and already happening in china. Sorry for the long, off topic post but i really believe that people dont realise the implications of giving up cash for the sake of convenience. " Could be a tax thing ... Government clawing back all that money they have had to spend these last few months but taking the ability away for paying with cash Any work couldn’t be cash in hand and through the books etc For example ... my nail bar only seems to take cash. Card machine never seems to work. I’ve been going there 20 years and have only been able to pay by card less than 10 times You are right - social engineering

" Well 8% is over 5 million and 45,000 is less than 1% of that. Statistics can be used to make any result" again you are looking at merely the mortality rate.... i said you have to look at the hospitalisation rate... which is still running at 10-15%.... what you are saying is that amount of people having spend time on hospital wards is okay at long as you don't lose people!!! "In 2018, flu, the common and garden everyday type of flu of the seasonal type found that 650,000 people die globally which is 0.009% of the population and that's a typical year. Up to now, less than 500,000 which is about 000.6% of the global population." bad comparison.... you are looking ay 650,000 over a 12 month period, compared to 500,000 over a 4-5 month period which is what happend with covid... extrapalate that over a year and you are looking at close to 1.3-1.4 million people dead "I appreciate you've heard 8% of the population but I personally think its a lot higher, more in the region of 70%" see.. ONS have mapped out all the the cases so they think with the data they know that roughly 13% of people in london have had it, and about 5% of the rest of the country see, to get to herd immunity, you would need at least 70% of the country to have had the virus....... you seen the damage it has done with only 8%, this is why we should look at the us and not get complacent!

"Oh hang on, let me just go and tell my friend, who had to buy her child, that it's not real, she will be so relieved! Bury Read my original post. I didnt say its not real. I said theres a massive ulterior agenda why its been blown out of proprtion, and we are being fed so much bollox about it. 900 deaths, down to 100 per day yet in that time, we had riots, and huge celebrations ftom footy fans etc yet its come down. Yep and what I'm saying to you is that it's insensitive to say it's been blown out of proportion when for some people it has completely changed their lives, and not for the better. For my friend, this couldn't have been any worse. I agree some of the death counts have been inaccurate but the reason the deaths have fallen rapidly is because of the lockdown. So why havent they shot back up after whsts happened lately. It is tragic that people have died, im not disputing that, but putting the whole world in total fear is the over reaction im on about Because most of the country are still staying in. Theyre not though. Yes they are, the roads and public transport are still generally quieter. This would have been far worse had the lockdown not been put into place. " Roads and motorways are almost back to normal I travel the M62 M6 and M5 to Wales all the time and roads are getting busier

" Well 8% is over 5 million and 45,000 is less than 1% of that. Statistics can be used to make any result again you are looking at merely the mortality rate.... i said you have to look at the hospitalisation rate... which is still running at 10-15%.... what you are saying is that amount of people having spend time on hospital wards is okay at long as you don't lose people!!! In 2018, flu, the common and garden everyday type of flu of the seasonal type found that 650,000 people die globally which is 0.009% of the population and that's a typical year. Up to now, less than 500,000 which is about 000.6% of the global population. bad comparison.... you are looking ay 650,000 over a 12 month period, compared to 500,000 over a 4-5 month period which is what happend with covid... extrapalate that over a year and you are looking at close to 1.3-1.4 million people dead I appreciate you've heard 8% of the population but I personally think its a lot higher, more in the region of 70% see.. ONS have mapped out all the the cases so they think with the data they know that roughly 13% of people in london have had it, and about 5% of the rest of the country see, to get to herd immunity, you would need at least 70% of the country to have had the virus....... you seen the damage it has done with only 8%, this is why we should look at the us and not get complacent!" So, if the hospitalisation rate was what you claim, that woukd mean between 6.5 to 10 million in this country alone. Slight exaggeration methinks You can do any comparisons you like but find out how many people NORMALLY die of sepsis. Last few years was running at 2,000 per month and how many now? Cancer, dementia, road traffic accidents and all other illnesses including seasonal flu. It appears nobody is dying of anything but Covid now. Lots die WITH Covid 19 not BECAUSE of it. It was only last month that there was reckoning that London has surpassed the 70% giving herd immunity. Yeah 4/5 here apparently but it's been around since 2019 hence the name Covid 19. It's been around longer than what you're claiming and you're attempting to distort figures. As reports have said that it's been active globally since last September, my only illness was in November and I do have the anti bodies. Not a day off work or anything this year at all. Daughter in law is a Covid nurse and she has the anti bodies but not been poorly since December. However, by all means you believe what you want to and keep up the scare mongering and when the economy totally collapses, there'll be more deaths from what was normally treatable and then the mental issues that are here already and the loss of jobs will increase that figure exponentially. Btw, Spanish flu is still around after a century. Swine flu, bird flu etc are still not eradicated. Ah well.

"Wow this thread is going around in circles... Can we just all agree that: Wearing masks in enclosed spaces = good Mass outdoor gatherings with no social distancing = bad Wearing masks in pubs = bad because you can't eat/drink without removing and possibly contaminating your mask Shops vs pubs = in pubs you can choose to stay away from someone but if you and a stranger both reach for the beans at the same time in your local Tesco you have a higher chance of being fucked Cashless society = convenient but also an invasion of privacy but also will most likely never happen in our lifetime so why the fuck is everyone panicking about it?! I have paid in many shops with cash during this pandemic. It is definitely still a thing. They are not just going to eradicate cash overnight. Can we all calm down? " This

" (This is already happening btw https://www.futuresplatform.com/blog/human-biometric-microchipping) Telling us that Big Brother is here and controlling our minds, microchipping us etc and then pointing at a conspiracy site (posing as a news site) as evidence is the same shit as telling us the royals are really lizards and pointing to David Icke as evicence. Firstly: microchipping isn't a thing yet. It can't be as we really DON'T have the nano technology to perform the task (how to power, how to store the relevant info in a micro chip small enough to hold a lifetimes data etc) Stop listening to stupid americans. Next thing, you'll be going on about chemtrails or a flat earth. Secondly: The world cannot and will not move into a cashless one in yours or my lifetime or probably at all. The "western" economies only make a very small percentage of the world. Africa, South America, East Asia etc have too many rural areas etc to make 'cashless' a thing (think rural markets, rural businesses etc) Thirdly: The world and all the people you know, will ever know, who will be born after your passing will be dead and forgotten within the next 150-200 years. We have killed this world for humankind. If we're lucky, a few will survive to maybe learn from our errors but I genuinely hope, and I really mean this, the human race is wiped from history and the next sentient race to rise will not be as fucking stupid as us. " I think most living things are less stupid than humans

Ok let's try this and it is checkable 1918 Spanish flu. 50 million dead. World population 950 million (est) 5.26% of the world's population. Experts. " Well, cashless society, there are a lot of reasons for not getting rid of cash, the latest one being today the Bank of England has started talking about negative interest rates. That's going to mean the banks will charge people to look after their money... When they decide to take away free banking, there is no choice to remove your money and store it yourself. https://www.which.co.uk/news/2020/06/bank-of-england-considers-negative-base-rate-will-banks-charge-to-hold-your-savings/

"Why is it people think only those who think there's some sort of conspiracy are 'awake'.... There is no ulterior motives and there isn't going to be a cashless society blah blah blah.... There is a very real virus out there that has taken the lives of thousands of people prematurely and caused millions to be incredibly ill. It's horrible and scary and has ruined so many lives, it's insensitive and just plain stupid to say it's been blown out of proportion." When you take away from a personal perspective, very few people have died in relevance to population rates. Never mind that we're mortal beings and cannot avoid death regardless of how it is commited. Nor that the planet is grossly over populated by humans who are intent on destroying it for a fictional system that they created with in money, taxes, even laws & religion are nothing but man made nonsense, humans are not the rulers of the world as they claim to be, selfish, greedy & ignorant creatures. Obviously this includes myself as one of these humans as it does you.

May I remind you that since 23rd March we have been in lockdown to prevent deaths. 3 weeks after we went into lockdown deaths peaked and then dropped off slowly. Had we not taken the steps we did then deaths in the UK would now likely be in terms of hundreds of thousands.

"What a load of poppycock. It's like people don't understand how virus transmission happens. A lot of people in this country have been severely lucky they haven't caught it. My friend (a 25 year old guy) caught it and almost died. Was in the hospital on a ventilator for weeks. " Exactly. I work in supported living and two of my colleagues have lost residents to it, and my sister in law's best friend has caught it twice and nearly died each time. I wish people with no understanding of these things wouldn't try to pretend that they're smarter than the scientists who have dedicated their lives to studying this kind of thing. The point of the restrictions isn't that it's going to kill everyone otherwise, the point is that the majority of transmission is asymptomatic so we could be passing it on to vulnerable people who might not survive it without even knowing!
