"Why would you go to these shops during a pandemic? " Because life demands that we do the other thing. But why some say do we choose to go to IKEA, because it is there, we choose to go to IKEA not because it is easy, but because it is hard, because that goal will serve our energy and skills and because it is a challenge that we are willing to accept . . . and one that we are un-willing to postpone . . .

But - most parking meters were covered and you could pay only by card. Not cash. ungarbled it says why would a parking machine accepting coins give you the assumption it does not get wiped down ... the 2 are not connected " Well. My assumption would be this. We were there 3 hours. And if I used the parking meter using coins - couldn't do it any other way - then a city worker should have been stood behind me waiting to wipe it. No? The street is the fabric quarter in Liverpool - so when we go we spend quite a bit of time between shops - NOBODY wiped the machines.

"Because the mask, or should I say face coverings farce is utter bullshit, and most folks with half a brain know they are being played for idiots. Riddle me this: if masks stop covid, then why don't they just send a shitload of them into the prisons instead of releasing felons. " How would you solve the covid problem?

"i may be misinterpreting but it seems you think post covid freedoms are ok, as long as its ones that suit you and ridiculously unsafe if its things that dont suit you 6 shops in a day mingling with loads of people for non essentials cash no face mask " Well. Except that: 1. Life has to get going again. 2. I wear mask and gloves ALL the time. 3. Sani' too.

"Over heard a conversation Tuesday night at work by 7 teens who was ordering the same hoodies, caps, jeans and face masks as they had "large orders" to fulfill aka full time shop lifters. They couldn't wait for the 24th " Oh for sure the Police really don't want to see masks in any form. And that is direct from someone we know who is a current serving detective.

"IN MY OPINION it’s all bollocks. Nobody really knows what will keep us healthy, it’s about keeping us calm. A hand sanitiser, social distancing, a paper mask... If the world got together and China was actually held accountable for all this though.... (It’s not as if it’s the first time these viruses emerged from there! What will they send next?) Eighty years ago Hitler was looking at this type of thing, apparently....." Don’t mention the war.

"I work in a petrol station and don't wear gloves or a mask. I'm confident my personal hygiene is of a good standard and I'm 2 metres from others plus behind a screen and place peoples change on the counter not in there hands. If I have go within 2mtr of someone, I wear a mask and gloves if I have to fill up for someone. "

"I wonder whether the fact that it's been introduced so late, like most of the other measures, including airport quarantine that then got reversed for dozens of countries, as well as after a number of people in power who've ignored or interpreted things in their favour, have all turned off much of the public from the issues that we still face. If masks were to be viewd as more important, they should have probably been introduced with just a couple of days notice. There are obviously some people who don't want to wear them for ideological reasons. They're a minority, so a distracting sideshow" With regard (only) to the couple of days notice. . . The lead in time was so that shops etc and people could get masks.

"Masks in shoos have been introduced in an attempt to get scared people to go shopping and spend money.. Like the go back to your office /place of work (and spend in doing so) The government are slowly realising they have pretty much bankrupted the country.. Who the hell needs to go to IKEA? " Masks in shoos.....like for foot comfort?

"Maybe I should change that to - Essentially the majority of people are NOT wearing masks. " I think you've just proven that it's way too late to introduce masks now. Most people have it or have already had it without knowing. As you said, parking meters, shop doors, handles, road crossing buttons, shopping trollies/baskets, cash machines, money etc... The barn doors are wide open and the horse has long gone. Marches, protests, packed beaches, these have all happened and cannot now be reversed. It's time we accept this and gear all the NHS services towards those that need it and let the healthy get back to work and school. Without the economy we have nothing.

"Most people are NOT wearing masks right now. Trip to IKEA and Marks and Spencer and Boots and B&Q and Fuel and Abakhan in Liverpool in the last two days went like this: IKEA: Waited about 20mins in outdoor Q's of about 50 couples/groups in front & behind us, = Only about 5 masks in total. Not including us. ------------------------ Staff in IKEA of about 10 we saw, = 2 Masks. ------------------------ Mark and Spencer: No Q's. and 'ish @ a guess maybe 60/70 customers, = 8 Masks. Not including us. Staff in Marks and Spencer, = 5 Masks. ------------------------ B&Q: No Q's only one other customer wearing a mask excluding us. Not one member of staff with a mask. They are still wiping trolley hand-rails outside. Their one-way system (though marked on the floor) is not operating now, just go where you like. Tills are taking cash again with hand-to-hand swopping of change and till receipts. ------------------------ Fuel Asda: Saw no masks or gloves on anyone at all including customers and staff. ------------------------ Abakhan in Liverpool: Saw about 3 masks of about 40 customers across two floors. Tills are using hand-to-hand swopping of receipts, though taking card payments only. ------------------------ The parking meters in Liverpool are taking coins. Which obviously means the buttons etc are NOT being wiped by wandering city staff. In total. Nobody is really wearing anything at all. Didn't mention gloves because we didn't see any. StarBucks drive-thru was funny - at the window everything is proper and safe, slide-out-trays for your drinks and snax, card machine on a pole for your card-payments only - very chatty and delightful staff - then they got a drink wrong so she said park in the wait-zone and we will bring it to you. 5 mins later a member of staff brought us our 'lost' drink while wearing no gloves no mask and hanging onto the door/window of the car and asking us what we were doing with the rest of our day - from about a foot away. Until the new Law come into effect - ESSENTIALLY NOBODY IS WEARING MASKS !!!! " All the parking meters, lift buttons etc. In Singapore, in April they started spraying all public housing lift buttons at least with a spray self disinfectant that leaves a molecular layer which continues to work for 3 months... link to Singapore Times... https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/self-disinfecting-coating-that-lasts-for-3-months-applied-to-all-hdb-lift-buttons
