"I feel the same. Though to be honest, I order from a cracking independent local Mexican takeaway at least twice a month so I'm still supporting a local business. " We have had a couple of takeaways when I can't be bothered to cook, slightly different to going out for a sit down meal tho

Yes we've done the same and that's not usually an option round here so was worth it just for the novelty value

But I personally don't feel safe with eating out still so I'm doing the next best thing.

"I just seen on the news about Government scheme trying to get people to eat out more. I love eating out but I really don't want to go to either if you can to sign in as I can't afford to take 14 days off work being self employed because someone else has covid and came in contact with me even though I had covid already but haven't had antibody test. Anyone else feel the same way? " I’m in the same situation as you being self employed. Can’t cope with being asked to self isolate for 14 days, so won’t be going to pubs or restaurants just yet. Best way I can support my locals for now is to do takeaways.

"Friend of mine said he and his gf went to wetherspoons sat down and ordered good, no booking, no details given D" as everyone has the track and trace app installed on their phone, can the government just use gps to show up who was near eachother?

I'd actually say it's totally impossible as restaurant food dosnt travel. While being delivered it's continuing to cook. I was a chef and anything on the pass for more that 4 mins was binned and redone. Food is an art. Restaurants doing social distanced and hygienic sittings should provide a break from the stress of this lockdown for a lot of people. And if you have already had the virus you shouldn't have to worry if someone else shows positive in the place you were eating. There is no real evidence you can get it twice or be a carrier/spreader for the virus after you develop the antibodies you have after recovering from the infection.

And if you have already had the virus you shouldn't have to worry if someone else shows positive....”** There is no proof to support that statement. There is no conclusive scientific evidence (yet) on the issue of immunity. There is no evidence yet that if you’ve had it once you won’t get it again. And even if you have any immunity at all, we don’t know how long that immunity lasts for. The second issue is to do with track & trace. If there is an outbreak in a particular restaurant, some people could be asked to self isolate for 14 days. For people who are self employed like myself & the OP, it will lead to a loss of income for us. So it’s not just a health risk we are concerned about, there is a financial risk too. I’m not suggesting that people shouldn’t go to restaurants, just saying people have different circumstances which will in turn dictate the decisions they make. In order to support my local restaurants, I’ll order takeaway for now as I said before. I know a takeaway doesn’t taste as good as eating in, but the taste of the food will certainly not be given priority over my health and wealth.

So will leave it for a few weeks.

"Far too much panic on here Went away for the weekend last weekend. 120 room hotel had only 20 rooms occupied and the pub and the restaurant that we ate in were only accepting pre booked diners. No standing drinking at the bar either. Both eating places had well spaced tables, one way systems and plenty of hand sanitizer available Had to provide contact details - not a problem for me The hotel in particular was really disappointed by the level of bookings given all the work they'd put in The economy really needs our collective help at the moment - the risk really is minimal if you go to a well run establishment and not a rammed drinker Oh....and the mini golf on Sunday was brilliant " only if you don't get caught in the track and trace business

We may want to be carefree but our minds wont let us, for example I will definitely not be stepping foot inside a cinema! I've been shopping online for years and will continue to do so, the high street has been declining for at least the last 10 years so you can't blame Covid for that, but people need to respect others and how they wish to emerge from all of this. You can't force or shame them we all have our own insecurities.
