Families running to food banks...

And what's the tories great idea...a meerkat 2 for meal offer.

Whilst a pandemic is still going on

Look at the rest of Europe launching massive green budgets

And sunak is still holding to his dogmatic budget from March

Someone who works in the hospitality, I welcome the incentive. On a social moral ground, that money would be better spent on helping those people who are on the breadline and struggling to put food on the table. The only people I see eating out are those that have some disposable income, which one could argue don't need money incentives to eat out anyway.

It's not to give money for people to eat, it's to put money in tills to get people working again. So not a handout but a handup

Seems a bit limited in what it can achieve. This may help the business owners but what about people needing jobs and such? The Vat cut again will help corporations etc but will it filter down to consumers and workers? I'm not too clued up on these matters so just intrigued to know what these approaches are designed to achieve and who they are meant to benefit.

So what policies did he have for people to eat?

Because there are lots of families facing a real choice of rent or eat. Thats not factoring in heat or eat for this winter?

Those vouchers are gonna be spunked on major retailers like Domino's, Pizza hut and weatherspoons.

Do you know what the total unit price is for Domino's to make a large pizza... Under £2 which they sell for over £10.

Thats ingredients, transport, heat and labour.

Most independent restaurants don't cater for fast food (the voucher is limited to £10.50)

I'd say most independent pubs meals are above this price

Just another shite Reaganomic policy covered in headline grabbing doublespeak.

How well did Reaganomics work out, oh yeah... it nearly bankrupt the largest economy in the world and caused inequality still being felt today

You'd think all the boomer mps more bothered the budget deficit then peoples health would have first hand experience

Im surprised sunak didn't pose for the budget with Byron burger like Osborne... Oh no he was sipping coffee out of £180 thermos. I shit you not

The mug is a metaphor... I said I struggle to spell not that I can't articulate myself just because we are talking numbers.

You are conflating price with value.

Ive driven luxury cars on holiday where I've driven 1000+ miles and loved driving ever minute

And I have owned economy boxes when all I needed is to drive 10 miles to and from work

I use the right tool for the right job.

A Chancellor has the same task. To steer the economy with government spending and collect revenue with "appropriate" measures.

Who at no 11 thought oh let's photo a £180 mug when the Chancellor is telling graduates it's great they have a chance at being an apprentice and earning minimum wage.

Unlike the accusations of judgement leveled at me in this thread. I am actually a rational non partisan capitalist who actively invests in markets. I think corbyns policies where mental but ironically would have been pretty good for a covid economy. The trains are already nationalised.

I voted yellow, red and blue in the past and may even voted green.

Politics is not football...its ok to change your flag

But let's talk numbers

sunak spunked around £30 billion pounds today and £100 billion on furlough.

The government where forwarned of the economic effects. And in early March where still talking about a booming economy in the budget

Now divided £130 billion by the 30 odd million adults in the UK. Do you still feel good about your £10 restaurant voucher?

"

Why not accept it for what it is? An attempt to get the country moving again and to provide some of the hardest hit businesses with some income. "

I'm not saying no parents are to blame. Clearly some are. But it doesn't change the fact that these kids are not being fed. Yes, some choose to spend it on booze, fags, scratchcards, PlayStation etc. Some have more kids than they're able to feed. But it isn't the children's fault either. At least if they give school meal vouchers or some scheme then it ensures the child is given a meal in return and not spent on toot like a shitty tattoo or something.

They aren't meal vouchers though, you just get a supermarket gift card, you can spend it on you're entire shop so you're not guaranteeing the child will even see any of it.

I'm not saying the children shouldn't be fed, but handing parents vouchers that can, in reality, be spent on anything in a supermarket, is very much open to abuse.

It's a shame there are no more summer clubs or the space scheme like when I was a child.

Get out of a book and live in the real world. I could not care less what a text book says, this is a very new approach to coming out of this and glad someone has the balls to take a risk. It's about getting people to start to think about normality. It's not about feeding people. It means more than people getting a 10er off steak. There is clearly a reason you are not been paid 100k and he is.

No plans to go out anywhere to eat. Lockdown proved how much money was trickling away on unnecessary purchases such as meals out & occasional takeaways & although I could afford it, it's better off in my account . Also with the track & trace or whatever it's called, I don't want to be caught up having to isolate. The less places I book in to, less people contact.

I keep being asked on a swinging site to lay down a 10 point plan for the governments economic recovery.

And when I have asked anyone supporting sunaks policies why they think they economically work and to provide an explanation...just as I have to explain why they dont.

It is tumble ...

But I can't pass on a good deal so...if we get any sane reasons as to why they do.

What would you do?

Had either of you read all my posts you would have seen where I think the economic recovery lies.

I will

I'll even thrown in am explaination why the policies are lining his pockets and what a shitty past sunak has and that the guy is fucking weasel

That's the gauntlet laydown"

Oh dear

you would make an excellent politician ... lots of talking around an answer without actually giving one , lots of criticising policy without providing a suitable alternative

there is also no point bringing up your superior knowledge of economics “on a swinger site” at every opportunity then moaning when people ask you to give your suggestions “on a swinger site” as if its a ludicrous out of the blue suggestion

You would make a terrible proof reader becuase I have provided alternatives. I have been vocal on other threads regarding similar topics too.

I've even gone as far to educate...for those that can handle concept of learning something factual from someone, even when you disagree with their subjective views.

Green policies... green jobs.

Not supporting industries paying minimum wage workers by throwing billions at it.

If you owned a Ford fiesta valued at £5k and it was written off.

Would you spend £4.5k or more to fix it?

No, its a BER beyond economical repair. A concept others have stated just in different words when lamenting the death of (most) of the high street

Moving to a focused highly skilled service economy and highly skilled manufacturing base for future industries not based on some crazy brexit boomer notion th uk can have every single manufacturing sector on a tiny (island) inhabited by 66 million people.

We live in a global economy, buying British only wont save us. we have to SELL British.

Hands up who wants to leave their comfy job to stick their head in a mine. Or dive to the bottom of the north sea to fix an oil rig. Yeah didn't think so

With most of the current skilled manual labour coming form foreign nationals who contribute to tax revenues and pay in to the economy...the government wants to kick out them out where does that leave us?

The government announcing universities are over rated. Its not like we have a chronic dr and nurse talent pool or anything which those foreign nationals are propping up.

Being asked to pre budget a political party spending manifesto is odd request anywhere. Least of all on a swinging site where most of the avatars are someones genitals...

Being insulted by a picture of a floppy cock hanging out brings a whole new meaning to...being an internet dick.

I also have not stated my knowledge is superior. They are my views based on a financial career that overalps this knowledge.

I have encouraged other to express their view even when it differs from mine.

I can't help it if they choose to use that opportunity to display their ignorance like the government should ignore micro and macro economics.

Once again I'm still waiting for a reasoned response why sunaks new policies work?

Have a look around read some economic oped pieces yourself....you know why their aren't any in support because as I said they are shit.

Why do think boots and John lewis held out to see what would sunak would unveil. And whe he did. They cut 7000 jobs the next day.

The guy was unheard to most people before corona hit and to those in the know...know sunak and every firm he has been involved in are tax dodging scum.

You say you're encouraging people to express their view but then you try to shout them down and patronise them. There's absolutely no point having a conversation with someone who will not even entertain the fact that their view isn't the only one that matters.

he also suggested the high street is beyond economic repair making it a bad investment then criticised the fact the package was no good for boots or john lewis

is apparently offended by cock pics and swinging sites yet frequents one and apparently now doesn’t think his knowledge is superior despite every post he makes reeking of that level of narcissism

i think to be honest he just likes to contradict and debate with himself because none of the rest of us could possibly have the intellect to understand such complex things while being as simple as swingers

marks contrary to what your ego might tell you i don't follow your posts across multiple threads with any interest, i responded to the posts i read in this thread and to be honest given your response was just more superficial criticism and high and mighty waffle ... i’m out and wont be responding again ... like _eeley says total waste of time

I have been hounded for my opinion after I voices my disapproval with some dry humour for a government that did not want to feed impoverish children and instead throw money at dead horse and pay half the restaurant bill of an enter nation

You asked for my opposing ideas o have given them .

Instead of concede or defend with your own analysis which you still have not even stated.

You have now personally attacked my character, attempting to psychoanalyse me without even ever speaking to me, again on swinging site. You sound insane !!!

As you first idea ran to me being an MP, id say your responses show you both would make excellent additions to the current crop of poor mps we have.

So it is clear the reason I am keen to inform others...is because I had 2 close friends take their lives after the 2008 crash due to their over leveraged financial situation.

As a result, know i am willing to make time for anyone who wants to learn how the economy really works rather think its is whatever latest government spin article in the daily mail is

If my analysis of this is right 2008 will look like a storm in a tea cup next to the corona cluster fuck...so go any enjoy you £10 weatherspoon voucher whilst you wear a fp3 mask and if it makes you feel better think you are improving the economy.

But if you really want to educate yourself rather just insult peoples character online whilst claiming you are a victim.

Ray Dalio an actual billionaire has kindly broken down what an economy is for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHe0bXAIuk0 When you are done forward it on to sunak

And be grateful i am not the A typical banker wanker, the contempt they have for you and your money is not driven through narcissism like crap hollywood blockbusters about 80s con men will have you believe.

In modern baking it is nihilism a far scarier prospect in the middle of a market crash https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAC5J2qgS90

i wont report your comments. I would d rather the post remains up so others can make there own conclusions about them.

Just because you do not agree whit someone does not mean you cant learn from them.

Despite your comments I have actively encouraged other to make their own mind and imparted my wisdom for free without the need for consensus.

but maybe just maybe given this my actual career path, maybe i do know more than you...and you think I am the narcissist. hold a mirror up.

No one actually cares what you say I am afraid. Go get yourself a beer, some pub grub at a reduced cost and have a wank. Clear your head.
