"I think you have to ask the ‘real’ covid generation - the younger generation! I have two 20 something daughters - one at uni the other furloughed. I feel for the younger ones who haven’t been able to have a leaving prom after leaving school. For the ones who are going up to secondary school leaving all their friends behind - it’s a big big deal for so many of the younger generation. Getting a degree and not so many jobs. All the younger generation not being able to get a job whatever their circumstance because of COVID. I feel for the younger generation X " Not getting a prom. ? OmG... 50000 dead bit you can't get a prom for love or money.. Really ?

"We are all part of the FaceBook/Twitter Generation. Be that Good or Ill. We all think that we have a say in the great 'schema' of things - in many ways we do of course - we can bid for a riot across Facebook, scream for justice over Twitter, and a good many people will respond in kind - depending on the nature of your calling you will be applauded or villified by those who want to make the cause 'them' or those who want to 'spit your cause' right back at you and prove to you the lowliness of your thinking. There are the popular causes subscribed to by those who know very little really of the intrinsic detail, but can detect the 'mood & feeling'. There are those who know with absolute conviction. There are those who sit fence like and wait for the majority before commiting to comment. This board for example is polarised, in so many ways (and not that it shouldn't be) it is full of the ideas of how we all know and feel instinctively to any given moment of the Pandemic. It is full of judgement and judgements, some we feel comfortable with, many more that are monentarily reactive and not accompanied by logical thinking and in some ways leave us feeling 'less-than' once we have committed our index fingers to the ENTER key (destined then to defend our POV to the bitter, and often-times, bloody end). Do you still hear other people voices in the things they write - did you actually here them before. Do you hear your own voice clearly? Can you see yourself as others do? Has the Pandemic been the Guardian of your soul or has it led you to despair of your fellows? We have this one life, we have all these others around us, we are a long time dead. It's a small (if a little long-winded) question. 'Where is your tolerance in the COVID Generation?' (sorry never type on a phone with vinyl nails)" I am not part of facebook generation it is full of morons as far as I can tell

"Gawd it wasn’t literally about a prom ffs!! You obs don’t have children!? Spoken to a lot of friends about this and it’s the younger generation who are going to be fucked - not going to lie - we’re alright jack - but there are a lot of people who aren’t going to be in the long run! Have had family who have been in icu so know how it is and I’m not in a rush to get out and about! BUT... it’s not just about you...it’s about everyone and the hardest hit atm are the younger generation and people who need to work and earn a living" I'd say the hardest hit are the 27-35...a lost generation that not only had to deal with covid but the 08 crisis too. A lost academic year isn't much in the grand scheme when the rest of the world is the same situation. It doesn,t make it easier to swallow but it does make it universal. Those in the 27-35 have permanent economic scaring facing to massive boomer cluster fucks

"To a home who thinks the so called young covid generation are suffering remember this.. It affects the elderly, infirm and older people much more than the young.. If there is a covid generation then it's the older generation ... Not the young.. " I would have to agree. What about the elderly or terminally ill- who have missed months of the little time they may have, hardly a comparison to the young- when they will bounce back. Yes my child has missed out on his last year at school but wouldn't say he is affected as a covid generation. They will bounce back as they have alot of life left.

"It's made me realise just how intolerant I am of people who wilfully do exactly what they please and brag about how edgy they are for not doing what they're told " Best not mention about the American parties, were they invite someone who actually has the virus.

"Personally I think the Doomsday clock has moved much closer to clicking on midnight, this world is fucked and the reign of men is coming to an end at our own hands by the following methods. Greed, ignorance, selfishness, poverty, overconsumption, politics, social media drug's and booze, laziness and gluttony and trump." The world has been like most of that for thousands of years.

"It has showed us the same thing that brexit did, that the internet and the media love the polarisation of society - where cliques are quickly formed in echo chambers. Where those who share the opposite of your opinion are things of ridicule, play things to be pointed and sneered at and any ability to even show understanding of the other side is a weakness to the cause. It would appear we are becoming a divided society dealing only in absolutes. " Perfectly summed up my thoughts.

I wonder if the polar opposites who get the most vocal are really just two minorities and the masses just sit back and let it all wash over... I am.never sure that any society is totally united. I saw footage of the Chop Zone and even this new community could not agree....
