Don't see Boris in any of those Campers.

People ARE allowed to move freely and go to campsites how the frick would they get there without actually going there. A vehicle is immune from lighting, covid, ebola . . . flu, etc etc.

AS long as they practice SD'ing at the destination/campsite let them be in peace.

It actually started yesterday - at 10.00pm last night word was that roads around some holiday parks and campsites were already clogged up with caravans and campervans queueing to get in...

....and today the photo on the BBC News website showing the southbound M5 services car and HGV parking area full of caravans and the like was taken at 5.30am...

A friend of mine had booked a Villa at a site in St Ives. Cornwall.

Campsite Rules:

* Arrive at your alloted time or go to the back of the Q for that days arrivals.

* No Child is Allowed out of the their accomodation without and adult.

* No Team sports or organised games. Including kick-a-bouts with balls that may stray into others site pitches.

* Arcade is closed.

* Stay left in all marked areas.

* No BBQ's (normally this would be okay).

* No Social gatherings or Party celebrations.

* Campsite Shop is Closed.

* Restaurant is Closed.

* Cinema is Closed.

* Departure is 7.30am (normally 12.15pm) to allow cleaning.

Of course she has moved it to next year. But it's a bit silly to think that people are just turning up at Campsites and running around licking everybody else there.

If they can 'stand' a holiday like that then we need to leave them in peace to do so. After all, if you don't like the idea of going on Holiday - Don't go. (and I really don't want to come over as being facetious in the least. But we really do have to accept that it is peoples right to move about freely - all reports that I have seen have reported, that in the main, MOST of the population did and continue to do so.

Be responsible for you and those close to you. With good grace and good manners.

I'm not sure it's about being clever. We have been fed a diet of fear for 4 months nearly, some people have made a lot of sacrifices in that time... Massive disruptions to their lives and behaviours, and then we have the media churning up images of overcrowding at various places along with the obligatory headlines, and it leads to concerns, we are all in this together, and its going to take a bit of time to crow bar that mind set back to trusting others.

How many “bad feelings, spikes and general end of the world stuff“ do we Need to listen to?

Beaches 8 weeks ago - no spike

Protesting 4 weeks ago - no spike

Beaches 2 weeks ago - no spike

Infections rates down, ICU beds getting empty, death rates down, 5 year average lower. Nightingale hospitals being used for other reasons....

But every week there is an other spike coming...

All those events you listed above where there was no spike, were all outdoor events - where the risk of transmission is low.

This time people will be meeting indoors in pubs etc where the risk of transmission is greater than at the beach.

So that's why people are concerned.

I'm not saying there will definitely be a spike, it will all come down to how people conduct themselves.

If people stick to the guidelines then we can contain the situation, if we become complacent and act like the virus has gone, then we are likely to see a spike in infections - as is already happening in some states in the USA.

What’s happening in the US in regards to hospital admission and deaths. Both going down. Only infection rates are going up. Less people are needing to even see a doctor

As long as people respect the rules on social distancing whilst on holiday as they would at home there shouldn’t be a problem with them being in their caravans and visiting beaches etc. People are now moving all around the country and beyond, they just need to be mindful in what they do. If people didn’t holiday now the lockdown eased then a lot of businesses will not be trading next year.

That's not true. In some Southern states like Texas the number of hospitalisations have reached a record high, yes higher now that it was few months ago.

In Texas the number of infections have increased, number of hospitalisations reached a record high, daily death rate increased, all of which have prompted restrictions to be reimposed.

Bars (pubs) which had opened up earlier, have been forced to close.

I said " In some Southern states like Texas"

Not sure what point you are trying to make.

My own point which I have already mentioned above is : if people comply with guidance given; we can control the virus.

If people become careless and complacent, then don't be surprised if the numbers go up again.

The example in the US proves my point.

In New York, Governor Cuomo has done a great job in bringing the situation under control. In some cases he was quite outspoken against the Trump administration's handling of the situation.

In Florida, Texas, Arizona, California restrictions have had to be reimposed due to infection rates / hospitalisations going up.

Whether we have a second wave /spike, will be partly down to how people conduct themselves, and whether they follow the guidelines or not.

Is it Boris’ fault that the country is full of muppets ? I’m afraid the society we have is the culmination of decades of people being given whatever they want, so therefore feel they are entitled to do what they want when they want it without thought or concern for the impact it will have on others.

I think whoever had been in Government would be between a rock and a hard place. There has been months of criticism of lockdown and how it will bring on a recession/businesses going belly up/jobs being lost etc etc. And once the restrictions are being eased to try to address some of that, then the government is being irresponsible about a 2nd wave.

The phrase “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” springs to mind.

"Because people are fucking stupid !

Lets all get together in our thousands and kill each other !

What does it matter; we will all die eventually, so lets kill all our old relatives and our kids by meeting loads of others and taking the virus home to the family !

(Is that really how the people of this country think, I am beginning to wonder)

Maybe the stupid people are the ones who hide under their beds while the clever ones get on with their lives."

Lets face it ppl, if you believe this is all untrue, fake news, or some kind of consperacy, you need to have a serious talk with your self, all over europe cities are going back into lock down as in this country starting with Leicester and north wales, its gonna get worse if we let our gaurds down, so masks gloves when needed try keep social distance and keep your self safe if ppl around you cant, if and once the vaccine comes we can all get back to do what we all love doing, having fun, stay safe ppl, we will want to meet you in a safer world xx.

"People ARE allowed to move freely and go to campsites..

AS long as they practice SD'ing at the destination/campsite let them be in peace

and you think they will SD? Very doubtful "

There are several sites down here that have closed the toilet & shower blocks & anyone visiting had to have their own facilities which effectively stops campers. No entertainment in club houses & social distancing in other areas/bars, so it will probably be managed fairly well. Some sites even cancelled holidays from people from Leicester for added peace of mind.

Good precautions taken by the sites.
