Just reopen.

It’s outside.

People are not there to socialise, your in and out as quickly as you can.

Ours has been open for a while.

We just have not been yet as life is to short to sit in a queue for 2 hours.

I haven't visited either, but those who have say you can be lucky and almost go straight in, or there are times with queues, about 1hr is the most I've heard (but I wouldn't wait that long anyway)

We have on down the hill from us and everytime we pass it the queue is huge.

They have even had to put temporary traffic lights in to direct traffic around the queue

Closest tip that I can goto is about 25 miles away, there is one about 8 miles away but a different county so can't just turn up there as I used to.

Ours open, but you only have access 2 days a week depending upon the area of the town you live. need to bring ID.

Limited in what they take as the recycling and refuse plants further up the processing chain aren't fully up to speed yet.

Ours have NEVER closed. They are operating a 1 in 1 out system which causes quite a queue, but no closure.

Most Hampshire tips are on a booking system. Some you cant get a slot in for weeks (we looked) Running at half capacity to maintain 2m (not 1m+)

Some of this is BS, and agenda driven. Its all open air, tip operators are used to handling rubbish so hand sanitiser et al are standard and tips are the last place most would touch surfaces and put hands in mouths.

Every trip to tip not taken saves council money (though tip subcontractors lose out on resale), some someone will be thinking - we can record everyones vehicle AND have less waste to process if we simply blame Covid.

Of course fly-tipping goes through the roof...

Certainly in my part of North London fly tipping is on the increase.Back in October / November my council said that collecting the green bin would cost £60 a year for fortnight collections for 6 months of the year as I don’t have much garden waste I decided I would take it to the dump myself then Covid19 happened and I needed to apply online to go to the dump.I had 3 bags of garden waste mostly grass cuttings in the end I gave them to my sister who put them in her green bin.

. That’s what my mum said I think she may have used a couple of bags and my sister took the rest of the bags as I think it was 5-6 bags I had not 3 as I stated earlier

No booking needed in worcester or malvern. Not much queues after the first few days. I've been twice...once to my local, once in Malvern...straight in both times.

You should google home composting instead of expecting the rest of us to clear up your waste.

Garden waste recycling company's use bulk chemicals to assist in the decomposition and separation of vegiitation they also have the specialist equipment to handle the effluent and waste.

The dried waste dependent on the vegetation will be compressed into animal feed or bio fuel.

Most of my waste is green garden waste from a garden becoming a wildlife (particularly butterflies) friendly one and one that produces crops so it’s not waste that’s generated to be a burden on the community.

Well unless you have eliminated all packaging from the products you buy, you will still be producing unwanted waste.

The council run waste collection centres were put in place to encourage people to dispose of waste correctly.

Unless you are living off grid and living off the land, it's strange you can criticise others for using a service that is actively encouraged.
