"Be down the pub today have long weighed up the risk and it’s negligible ,those in high Risk groups or underlying health problems well that’s a different matter they will have to take extra precautions for the foreseeable " The risks to your health are negligible. That's ok then isn't it. Sod contributing to a 2nd wave and making the lives of those at high risk difficult again. Of course we need to get back to normal but pubs contribute just 1% of the economy But will be high spreading areas. Keep them closed until we have really got this under control and people will just spend elsewhere such as alcohol from supermarket.

"The virus is easily transmitted on hard surfaces. Fact. Thoughts? They are washed you know between customers" so the bar staff are wearing gloves and washing their hand in-between each serving ? No and it doesn't kill every one that catches but its sure not helped the 529,405 that been killed in 6 month so far not to even go down the side effects

"The virus is easily transmitted on hard surfaces. Fact. Thoughts? They are washed you know between customers so the bar staff are wearing gloves and washing their hand in-between each serving ? " They sanitise their own hands between customers, wearing gloves is as good as a tin foil hat

" Don't think they was saying driving to the pub It was saying we have been told for years use public transport where we can to help save the environment now we are being told to avoid public transport and drive where we can as it's safer and it would be the same with plastic glasses being used if it was safer

Thats fine and if you have health issues that make you vulnerable then it makes sense for you to stay in, however we cant all do that can we, all those essential services need workers and the economy needs to operate to pay taxes etc, for the huge majority cv19 is no risk in comparison to everyday life, we have been to a pub today, very well organised plenty of space between tables which were cleaned between customers etc, was great to be able to go people watching again, only had one drink each but less contact than in a supermarket

"I assumed pubs would be using disposable plastic glasses" Glass washers will do a good job of killing covid, as they too with all other bacteria and virus's that are present in pubs, if washing your hands for 20 seconds in luke water gets rid of the virus 15 mins in a glass washer at 65c will do the trick

"Glasses are washed in a glass washer, I would like to think this kills anything, because if not ill take my own glass to the pub from now on lol. Danish x Not as thorough as your dish washer at home" No but they reach upwards of 80 degrees and run for at least 2 minutes which kills most bacteria Doughnut

"The virus is easily transmitted on hard surfaces. Fact. Thoughts? Not a chance I'm going to the pub anytime soon. Think how often you have seen leftover lipstick on a cleaned glass in a pub. It's not the staffs fault, equipment in a pub can be unreliable at times and the staff simply aren't trained to know how to clean things to the level required to deal with infectious diseases. I really feel for the landlords that need to make a living, but it's a risk too far for me personally." Soapy glass washer?

With any luck he’s forgotten about you! So for not directing at anyone ... just direct at everyone ... I’m not a dickhead though I’m not fussed about going to a pub. Seems pubs are ok to go into by the governments standards or do you mean other medical health advisors ? Surely you’ve stayed isolated for 15 weeks to protect yourself.... not others.. carry on, help yourself!

Your dishwasher might operate at 80 but not a glass washer If set to the manufacturers temperature.

Glasses go through a glass wash which should wash them at over 80°c. Any bacteria or germs will be killed at that temp.
