"Just a thought. How many went to the beach and protests Is this the first of the results?" Nothing to do with the beach or protests all to do with more testing. Cases do not matter, that does not equate to deaths. 392 patients have died (this year) at Leicester hospitals, who have tested positive for COVID-19 "Seven of those deaths have been announced since last Wednesday (17 June). The ages of the patients range between those in their 60s to those in their 90s. Nobody in the country died under the age of 40 in this time. https://www.england.nhs.uk/…/statist…/covid-19-daily-deaths/ In the ENTIRE COUNTRY, in NHS "care??" there were 15 in mid 40's,110 aged 60-79,and 165 over 80. Only 87 of these 290 were in the Mildlands area, meaning 80 deaths were not even in Leicester!

The last sport out... Cheltenham and the first one back.. Why? Even the deniers know that social gatherings spread diseases.. So why take the chance? And say in the same breath .. We need to get a grip of this local spike so need to lockdown again.. And at the same time.. We think it makes perfect sense to have a gathering of approx 1000 people from all over the country...

Leicester is famous for its beaches btw, we often go sea fishing there , not now of course , we never go out , not even to put the bin out on Tuesday unless Boris says we can.

"the city in lockdown yet the local health authority invite hundreds to come racing....very strange ! All horse racing is behind closed doors. There are no crowds. That's what I thought xx" But.. Behind closed doors, does not mean, without a large gathering of people.. TV, radio, journalist and camera crews, roadies and operators. Stewards, security, course management, first aid, vets, medical Centre staff, transport, drivers, jockeys, lads, grooms, owners, trainers, bookies spies, jockey club blazers and so on... A lot of people to make the event happen behind closed doors.

It is outdoors with a lot of space and social distancing going on...As a non contact sport, its record is good..Just watched the opening race and it looks OK. Cheltenham was, with hindsight not such a good idea, but as you know it was pre lockdown.

"Was listening to the BBC news: apparently the coty’ Mayor wasn’t given the figures he’d been requesting ....... for a week ! It wasn’t even him that asked for the lockdown. From what I can guess he was informed and treated like a bit of an afterthought " This the same mayor who did a cummings at least 3 times that we know of? The one who went down the Trump line of "there are only more cases because we are testing more" ( implying that with less testing they would have less cases...so no problem?). Their police and crime commissioner was asked on sky news (as others have suggested) if it was to do with the "illegal garment manufacturers" who never closed down at all..... Dont need beaches and mass protest gatherings if that is the case.

Probably 300 to 500 people maximium at an outdoors racecourse. All observing strict rules. Compare that to how many unregulated people pass through an indoor supermarket in an hour.

"Just a thought. How many went to the beach and protests Is this the first of the results?" Given that Leicester is literally smack bang in the middle of the uk And its coastline And is over 120 miles away from London and the majority or protests that where in the south (E.g Bristol) I'd say statistically speaking probably a lot less than other cities in the uk. But hey pull opinions out your arse get answers out of thin air

"Maybe he can put the instructions in broken Latin and metaphors. Leicester isn't alone. Sky are now reporting 36 boroughs that are at risk of local lockdowns. "It has been widely reported that the 36 "at-risk" areas are: Havering Wiltshire Wandsworth Gloucestershire Ealing Hammersmith and Fulham Doncaster Plymouth Barking and Dagenham Westminster Milton Keynes Wakefield Haringey Medway Hounslow Brent Harrow Kensington and Chelsea Slough Suffolk Redbridge Sandwell Enfield Tower Hamlets York Sunderland Wigan Windsor and Maidenhead Leicester Gateshead Isle of Wight Richmond upon Thames Portsmouth Redcar and Cleveland Derbyshire Walsall"" Plymouth has seen a large rise in the percentage of infections, about 66% The local paper is saying the figures have gone from 2 people last week to 5 this week... about 66% but only 3 people... Statistics are great aren't they...

"On the tv /radio comments that a lot of people living in the lock down district area dont /understand speak English and its Boris failing to get the message across the last 3 months " In fairness, Leicester City CCG have provided the information in languages from Afrikaans to Zulu (quite literally!) and even Latin.

"Horse racing brings in an average £80 billion revenue ! ! That’s probably it’s given the go ahead ? All those logistically involved you ghttps://www.fabswingers.com/mb/Reply.aspx?MessageID=24138402&MessageGUID=aac16df2-e9eb-4ba5-b26f-fcc8ac30a06duys listed, plus all those race courses need regular up keeping, stable hands feeding mucking out & exercising horses daily needed even in lockdown. They’re not cheap to have stood around not earning ? Maybe look at investors names of ownership too ? " Racing has restarted, and by pure coincidence not only does Matt Hancock have a major racecourse in his constituency, but also they and the Jockey Club are donors to him...

" What has borris done recently Other than defend 3 of his advisors and mps from major scandals And waive Timtams around a say who needs the EU. We are signing a free trade deal with Australia worth 1% of trade deal with the EU. Borris hasn't put out a coherent message at any point of the pandemic other than at the start. Which was continue shaking hands with people and have a stiff upper lip. How did that work out for him... Oh yeah he nearly died from the virus. Who would want to listen to him? Is the more worrying question
