"I think the latest scenes in the media of all the parties, violence and damn right stupidity going on is absolutely disgraceful. Have we learnt nothing from this pandemic? Are these latest news headlines outlining how moronic the so called minority are or is this behavior highlighting major problems in the behaviour / issues of modern society. I'm feeling incredibly embarrassed for us all on the whole and knowing I have worked through out, seeing the attitudes of people who seem to think the virus has passed or just don't care! Knowing the sacrifices made by the emergency services, NHS and key workers in general, some of us have had to work without a break, extra hours, no holiday etc, most not being paid anything extra except for a thank you. Yes we still have our jobs and I feel for you if you've lost yours Please start thinking about others before heading out. Before drinking stupid amounts and realising there are no toilets so you end up pissing in someone's doorway, or spitting at a police officer because they are trying to do their job, think about the families with vulnerable people who are scared to go out! If the latest stories of how we as a nation are projecting ourselves to the outside world are anything to go by well I don't want to be called British anymore, I'm ashamed, horrified and scared for the future of what we are becoming! " Nothing new then

"Nobody is really interested in listening. The mases will still continue to do what they like. " I'm not sure it is "the masses" i'm pretty sure it's the minority. The press like to make a story of everything and as dramatic as possible. None (or very few) of the families who went to the beach yesterday could have predicted 500,000 (according to the media) where going to turn up. The vast majority must have gone hoping/expecting to be able to maintain social distancing but the volume of people just didn't allow it.

" Surely their common sense should kick in and not stop there" I suspect common sense has been eroded over the years because people have come to expect 'someone else' to sort the aftermath of their stupidity out.

Police, army have no powers to control crowds and even if they did there would be riot's about human rights. No win situation, it's people's mentality that needs changing but way to late as there have been generations bought up with no respect for any sort of authority.

And those powers have never been removed.

If they hate being requested to be sensible, social distancing and masks, they wont like having a VENTILATOR! Then lets see how they feel. These idiots are perpetuating this pandemic. You will have to release the pressure and if you don't don't be afrisd then shit hits the fan. It comes to the point where the cure is worse than the disease. I personally would not sacrifice freedoms for safety as that always leads us down a road where we have the fight for it back.

Actually what DOM CUMMINGS did had a huge, huge effect on everyones thinking. Everyone was " in lock down & was staying home " The pathetic words coming from our leader - DOM CUMMINGS - who runs boris - his puppet. HAVE HAD THE WORST POSSIBLE MESSAGE SENT TO ALL OF US. DURING THIS NEW PANDEMIC. " What???? So your saying one man breaks the rules and everyone thinks ok we can all break them, sorry but I didn't go meeting people because he went out. Think most people are not that stupid.

" .the right to trial by a jury of twelve of your peers is one they are already sneaking that one through whilst blaming it on covid when in fact its they're cuts and closures that led to the current backlog it was there way before the lock down . pretty fundamental right and freedom in this country dont you think " Evidence? All I can find is references to social distancing measures and changing to remote trials via video calls during the pandemic. But the jury itself is still a part of the process.

Sadly unless there is physical barriers or someone to enforce rules, alot of people will just do what they want.

"Well this hateful and unhealthy respect for others lives is contemptible and they aren't worthy of being discussed. Anyone who is so stupid NOT to realize the need for safety (for all) is an idiot. If they hate being requested to be sensible, social distancing and masks, they wont like having a VENTILATOR! Then lets see how they feel. These idiots are perpetuating this pandemic. We come out of Europe, with the attitude of this country I am shocked we weren't kick out. Mate its not just the UK, this is going on all across Europe if you care to expand on your news source.Totally agree with you on the rest of your post though." I live here in the UK and concerned with our environment. I know what is going on in Europe, but I also believe (my opinion which I am perfectly entitled to, just saying) is that here its a ME ME ME culture in the UK and its selfish, arrogant and thoughtless. I had a fully fit "ex friend" say to me "why should I suffer for the vulnerable!" WTF. We are no longer friends. See selfish attitudes. One day they may be in a unhealthy state and then these types (as is usual) want compassion and understanding, because sadly they can only feel their needs. I thank you for your reply. And wish you well and safety as I do ALL

"Some people think there above the law , the ones who still use mobile phones while driving the ones not wearing seat belts , the ones who have no car insurance, the ones who don’t wear face masks on public transport etc etc , some people are just born stupid " When the prime minister, his ministers and their advisors flout the law on a daily basis, you can forgive anyone for the impression the law shouldn’t apply to them either.

"It's the Cummings effect, people stopped giving a shit when they discovered that the people in power don't give a shit. Monkey see monkey do Let's be realistic, the Cummings story makes no difference. The people doing this would have done it either way. "

"I'm on a beach in the south of France and its full of people sunbathing like normal. Beach cafes and restaurants are open. The difference in France is that nobody appears to be moaning about people enjoying themselves at the seaside. Then again I haven't had a look at the french equivalent of Fabs."

All I can find is references to social distancing measures and changing to remote trials via video calls during the pandemic. But the jury itself is still a part of the process. " Then you need to dig a little deeper. There are a number of suggestions already being considered that would reduce a person's right to trial by a jury of her peers. These include:- Increasing the number and type of cases that can be tried by magistrate courts rather than being referred up to Crown Court. Introduction of Diplock style Courts, where no jury sits and the verdict is decided by a judge with the aid of two court officials. Reduction in the size of the jury from 12 to 6 or even 5.

And wish you well and safety as I do ALL" Why is wrong for your ex-friend not to want the lively of himself, and possibly his partner and kids and many of his friends to suffer but perfectly OK for this unknown "vulnerable" person to see then suffer just so they don't have to. Maybe if you were facing the loss of your own livelihood you'd be a little less smug and a lot more empathetic to your ex-friend.

" Would you jump off a bridge because someone else did? Just because some people want to risk their lives doesn't mean I will." Sound sensible to a point. It is not really about that, it is about people ignoring safety guidelines/lockdown etc possibly spreading a respiratory virus that is highly contagious and passing it on to others some of whom will be killed as a result. I do agree that the behaviour of that idiot Cummings has given the excuse that people can do what they like and many of those people on the beach were only testing their eyesight! The difference between him and the stupid masses on the beach is that he definitely had Covid 19 and put it around Durham and any service station there and back petrol etc. It is sad as it appears this idiot is part responsible for ensuring herd immunity was put out there at the beginning of the lockdown. I don't think that attitude has changed. Stay safe and protect each other

"Theres a big section of society who do not think anything except what they want to do. All races, all ages. Things won't go back to any sort of normal now. " That is right they dont and now they can expect the 2nd wave quicker than previously thought. I wonder if we ever will get back to the old reality, instead we will be in this new reality for a decade or even for longer until the people will learn, if ever.

"Nobody is really interested in listening. The mases will still continue to do what they like. I'm not sure it is "the masses" i'm pretty sure it's the minority. The press like to make a story of everything and as dramatic as possible. None (or very few) of the families who went to the beach yesterday could have predicted 500,000 (according to the media) where going to turn up. The vast majority must have gone hoping/expecting to be able to maintain social distancing but the volume of people just didn't allow it." Jesus those car parks must of been rammed never mind actually getting to the beach the traffic jams must have been massive
