I think the latest scenes in the media of all the parties, violence and damn right stupidity going on is absolutely disgraceful. Have we learnt nothing from this pandemic? Are these latest news headlines outlining how moronic the so called minority are or is this behavior highlighting major problems in the behaviour / issues of modern society.

I'm feeling incredibly embarrassed for us all on the whole and knowing I have worked through out, seeing the attitudes of people who seem to think the virus has passed or just don't care!

Knowing the sacrifices made by the emergency services, NHS and key workers in general, some of us have had to work without a break, extra hours, no holiday etc, most not being paid anything extra except for a thank you. Yes we still have our jobs and I feel for you if you've lost yours

Please start thinking about others before heading out. Before drinking stupid amounts and realising there are no toilets so you end up pissing in someone's doorway, or spitting at a police officer because they are trying to do their job, think about the families with vulnerable people who are scared to go out!

If the latest stories of how we as a nation are projecting ourselves to the outside world are anything to go by well I don't want to be called British anymore, I'm ashamed, horrified and scared for the future of what we are becoming!

I'm not sure it is "the masses" i'm pretty sure it's the minority.

The press like to make a story of everything and as dramatic as possible. None (or very few) of the families who went to the beach yesterday could have predicted 500,000 (according to the media) where going to turn up. The vast majority must have gone hoping/expecting to be able to maintain social distancing but the volume of people just didn't allow it.

In all aspects we are just far too soft, whether its the punishments, the sentences given ,the police are too weak and too few. Nothing is going to change folks unless we get far tougher .

Google MACP Military Aid to the Civil Power. You will be surprised to see what is allowed at any time with no need of consent. You only need to look back to the 70's to see it in action. And those powers have never been removed.

Agree totally with OP. I hate this gvt but I can’t see them doing anything about this. If they were to close the beaches or take any measures I can already hear the criticism of the ‘nanny state’ etc...

I’ll never understand why people have a problem with state intervention when the well-being of everyone is at stake.

A lot of Brits reject the so called nanny state and it gives them carte blanche to behave selfishly, make up their own rules stick two fingers at everyone else. On the continent people crave for state intervention and they’re horrified if there isn’t any! Here, with our mini American way of life, it’s all about me, me, me and myself!

That’s what you get Forty years after the famous ‘there’s no such thing as society’.

I'm very proud of our area, no one has disrespected the lock down, and on our road, we have all been getting to know each other more, over our gardens, even people in flats near us have been doing it, and there is now no virus around us Fact!. This has been happening by mainly city people. And certain areas in them city's. Also I think the scaremongering press have not helped at all, ie going on about beaches but saying people in Liverpool are OK to celebrate in large crowds.

Boris is partly at fault as he should have thrown Cummings under the bus. The 'Cummings Effect' is the main reason for people doing what the fuck they want to as the usual 'one rule for them' clearly applies when it comes to social distancing.

"I think the latest scenes in the media of all the parties, violence and damn right stupidity going on is absolutely disgraceful.

Oh quiet. You can't cage people up indefinetly. There will be a breaking point and the reaction will be violent and in many cases bloody. You will have to release the pressure and if you don't don't be afrisd then shit hits the fan. It comes to the point where the cure is worse than the disease.

For what you want the govt would have had to really come down and hammer down on freedoms. In countries where they become full authorian. Once the state has that much power, they very rarely release you from it.

I personally would not sacrifice freedoms for safety as that always leads us down a road where we have the fight for it back.

I'd love to know what freedoms people think the government want to perminantly take away? Lets not forget the people in power like us spending money all the time it's what lines their pockets after all. it comes down people being used to doing what we want when we want etc with no one saying no. Boris is partly at fault as he should have thrown Cummings under the bus. The 'Cummings Effect' is the main reason for people doing what the fuck they want to as the usual 'one rule for them' clearly applies when it comes to social distancing."

Judging by the amount of people people protesting and hitting the beaches I don't think we can say it's just a few people being irresponsible anymore. The more restrictions are lifted the more people seem to think it's all over!!.

I know of two people who have died from covid 19 so as much as I want to go out to a pub or to have a nice meal with friends I think I will wait a bit longer.

I fear that idiots will be out in force drinking like they did on the last night of the pubs back in March when they reopen next Saturday. Why on earth make the first day a weekend. People won't social distance when d*unk.

I work Saturday nights and there is a bar next door I have to walk past to get into work with a massive beef garden outside. Worried I'll have to dodge people. The bar owner in April breached lockdown and the police had to come and cordon off the beer garden.

We have over 43,000 people dead and some people will never learn.

Then you need to dig a little deeper. There are a number of suggestions already being considered that would reduce a person's right to trial by a jury of her peers. These include:-

Increasing the number and type of cases that can be tried by magistrate courts rather than being referred up to Crown Court.

Introduction of Diplock style Courts, where no jury sits and the verdict is decided by a judge with the aid of two court officials.

Reduction in the size of the jury from 12 to 6 or even 5.

Why is wrong for your ex-friend not to want the lively of himself, and possibly his partner and kids and many of his friends to suffer but perfectly OK for this unknown "vulnerable" person to see then suffer just so they don't have to.

All these hysterical lamentations and hand ringing. People aren't being stupid they're being people. They are assessing the risks as they see them and making the decisions that they feel are best.

You cannot keep people locked in their homes indefinitely whatever the risk of them coming out maybe. And what is the risk of them coming out and going to the beach or park? Pretty damn low actually. There is volumes of evidence that the chances of catching Covid outdoors is so low it's not even measurable and even lower if UV levels are high. There is also increasing evidence that, while it is possible, the chances of catching Covid from someone who is asymptomatic are pretty low too.

People are going to come out of their homes and are going to go to the beach, and parks, and lakes because they simply cannot stand being locked in at home anymore and any reasonable assessment of the risk will tell them it is low.

The government should remove all restrictions on outdoor activities now before the law becomes a joke and concentrate its efforts on getting an effective track and trace system working which, if it had done so in the first place, might have avoided this economically and socially damaging lockdown which no government was ever going to be able to keep in place for more than a few months at best anyway.

Sound sensible to a point. It is not really about that, it is about people ignoring safety guidelines/lockdown etc possibly spreading a respiratory virus that is highly contagious and passing it on to others some of whom will be killed as a result.

I do agree that the behaviour of that idiot Cummings has given the excuse that people can do what they like and many of those people on the beach were only testing their eyesight! The difference between him and the stupid masses on the beach is that he definitely had Covid 19 and put it around Durham and any service station there and back petrol etc.

It is sad as it appears this idiot is part responsible for ensuring herd immunity was put out there at the beginning of the lockdown. I don't think that attitude has changed.

Stay safe and protect each other

The press like to make a story of everything and as dramatic as possible.
