Covid and Lockdown induced Anthropophobia

I'm very very touchy feely, always have been. But today I think I really had an acute shock of Anthropophobia while out in a busy public place.

Maybe it's just how long we have all been apart from Family and Friends and that power of touch that has been, for the most part, removed from our ability to do without feeling a deeply illogical and strangely logical sense of anxiety.

In a million years I would not have put myself on that Spectrum.

This is new for me and something that I obviously need to deal with pretty quickly before it find a solid root . . . anyone feeling the same way (I mean in the sense that you didn't have it before)? How are you dealing with it?

I am a peoples sort of person but I feel really uncomfortable in crowded places at the moment especially with trying to social distance keeping my own space clear and trying to second guess other peoples movements .

Scotland - Aberdeen

It is a difficult one, I'm not a touchy feely person, but when I first hugged my dad again, my god, it was so what I needed!

In general with strangers? I am really hesitant, I hate it when people don't move to the other side of the pavement when passing me and I want to say something, but don't dare or when cyclists overtake you on the pavement when your not expecting it, and no I am not a natural anxious person, but my hackles were raised when my mum (parents are divorced) said, 'we brought you up sterner stuff than that!' As you can guess she is a non believer.

So yes, I am feeling the difficulties during this time.

Northampton Somewhere

I am much more wary of people than before. I'm going to the supermarket in the evening when there is less people, won't go down aisles where there's too many people. Dodging customers and backing away from them if they need to talk to me etc. I'd be happier if everyone was as cautious as me tbh. Someone I work with went to give me a hug today!!!

If your unsure and a bit scared I understand that, the best way to get over it is go by track and trace rules. You have to be within 2 metres of someone for 15 minutes, before your classed as at risk. Use that and slowly you're feel more at ease.

hiding from cock pics.

I just had to search what the word meant.

I've been suffering with this, I just didn't know that it was a word (or a thing) and I just thought it was my own personal anxiety.

It's really not something that I would have ever thought was part of me also.

I've always thought of myself as a people person and at the moment I'm really not.

I hope that in time I don't feel the same, and it wears off it's really never been part of how I am and currently it really is.

I'm sure that what I experienced was a result of learned behaviour, one that I din't have before. It should wear off - I hope it wears off.
