The rules around bubbles for adults who live alone haven’t changed. They can already stay overnight with another household without social distancing. Today’s announcement makes no difference to that

I'm sure he said you can now stay over night with anyone from any household at home or in paid accommodation aka hotels,

I took this as you can now have multy bubbles but only one at a time.

None of it matters anyhow because nothing can really be policed, it's now down to each persons informed risk /judgment call, at least there won't be any Spanish inquisitions at hotel check-ins.

If you can touch someone your less than 1m if you can touch each other's outstretched hands your less than 2m

Near enough without a tape measure

If you'd told me 6 months ago that grown adults would accept the government making rules about sleepovers in your own house, I wouldn't have believed it.

If you’d told me 6 months ago that there would be 43000 people dead from a virus I wouldn’t have believed it

There are 43,000 people who have died with covid19, which is not the same as from covid19. If you took the proportion of them who would have otherwise lived to see 2021 and told me that many people would die, I probably would have assumed a bad terrorist attack.

No rules are enforced anyway,so you make up your own decisions on the advice I guess.

Grown adults making grown up decisions and taking responsibility for their actions...

...shocking

Oh I forgot the part where before people weren't taking their pre-existing conditions seriously and NOW it's considered ridiculous to be concerned about a direct risk to them.
