So the Covid19 notifications has automatically been added to everyone's phones.

It's interesting how much control the government have when they want to.

You still need to download the app.

It's not the tracing software and it's been deployed by Apple and Google not the government, it's the adaptations to allow it to work if you choose to install an app. It is also turned off by default.

This isn’t government .

Android and Apple added the tool as part of their software update.

U.K. doesn’t have app at the moment so there isn’t anything using the operating software tools.

You can turn off the tools in settings, if you have no intention to use tracking apps in the future .

Its the phones ios update that has been updating them via the health notifications on your phones.

android and apple ios have not installed anything.

They have allowed you to choose if you want to install any covid app on your phone.

I'm sorry to disappoint those readers looking forward to a good old rant about the state violating their right to privacy or expecting fuel to feed another conspiracy theory fire. Neither Apple nor Google have uploaded an app to your smartphone without your permission; no stealthy and automatic tracking app installation has taken place.

Yes, there is now an entry at the top of the Google settings on my Android smartphone, for example, that states: "COVID-19 exposure notifications."

No, that does not mean an app has been installed. Indeed, if I were to click on that entry, it would take me to a screen that tells me I have to install or finish setting up a participating app to activate the exposure notifications.

Android and Apple have automatically updated the operating software of the device - which enables an app (if you chose to instal an app for covid tracking ) to do what it needs to do.

No software update from android and Apple - an app wouldn’t be able to operate properly (which is why the U.K. have ditched their original tracking app method and now moved to the Apple/android method)

My friend told me about it but when I checked it looks like the Bluetooth needs to be switched on. Most people have it off nowadays so it shouldn't be a problem

The problem is the whole purpose is to help define a new normal of living with a disease that spreads easily and kills easily and where the only defence to stop its spread is to isolate. This new normal will allow us to isolate the sick while the healthy go about their lives, rather than currently which is isolating everyone.
