I dread to think how this gvt could ensure that we have enough masks for everyone in the country. The cynic in me cant help thinking that the reason they are not compulsory here is because we don’t have enough of them and sourcing them would be the same disaster as the PPE scandal.

But the goverment aren't supplying masks to the general public? They are compulsory on public transport.

They’re not really compulsory on public transport. Remember that they said: face coverings will do, it doesn’t have to be a mask. I saw this as a hint that the supply is not there.

Of course it is for the public to buy them but these masks have to be bought on a bigger scale from other countries and if they were to make them compulsory, something tells me that there wouldn’t be enough for everyone in the UK.

Face covering mask, paper bag lol it's the same thing essentially (and don't get all technical saying an ff898989889/ 25 mask is bettr then a jiffy bag lol),

Mask aren't made by the government they are made by Industry - Time that Industry stepped up.

But the truth is closer to the fact that people will wear face coverings on public transport because they have to - yet in shops and out in public I have seen a massive shift toward non wearing of masks. Not even gloves for most people.

I sort of agree, but there are different standards of the masks. The standard the public would flock to aren't the type the NHS would allow, I know since I tried to make a donation as I have loads.

Can see with wearing a mask but don't see point in wearing gloves as unless change gloves each time you pick something up etc what are you gaining by wearing them that you dont get from bare skin and just hand washing and hand sanitizer?????

It wouldn't matter how many times I touch things wearing gloves as long as I don't touch me or you. andyou can use sanitizer on the gloves before removal and or wash when you take them off.

Isn't the point of the masks to reduce what ever you breath out contaminating others? If using homemade masks, then which I see is getting more popular, reduce transmission by any percentage is better than not wearing masks?

BTW I love the red tartan skirt in your photo. I think I buy one for myself when I get a chance to fuck again

On a slightly différent note, i went to fill up. I looked around me and realised that I was the only person wearing gloves out of 5 customers.

True our gvt has been crap since the whole thing started but we have a big range of thickos who clearly can’t think for themselves for 5 secs.

The biggest improvement in safety comes from infected people wearing masks and spreading less. But healthy people still reduce their risk of catching it by ~30% compared to not wearing a mask in the same situation. If both are wearing masks then the rate of transmission is very small. Honestly, I don't know about homemade ones.

PS: thank you

I actually had somebody in front of me fill up with no gloves then say to me (he saw I was wearing gloves) 'I've not got coronvirus you know' - I answered 'good for you and now I know I won't have it either!'

I've seen loads of people doing this. Plus people wearing masks over their mouth but their nose uncovered.

I even saw one lady with a surgical style mask but it was still 'folded' on her face. She hadn't opened the folds up to fit her face.

Precisely, I often wonder what people think they are preventing by wearing gloves.

They are only necessary to prevent contaminants absorbed through the skin .. so unless I missed some scientific revelation ....

Have seen that a few times now. Masks & gloves scrunched up and thrown in the car park

I don't bother with gloves at all. Hand hygiene is all that's needed. Don't use public transport so face covering not needed either.

There was nothing wrong with the PPE that was sourced from turkey apart from not having the British kite mark or EU Mark

Yet the unions said they could not use it and had to be destroyed it would have been great for everyone to use if the unions yet again hold this country to ransom

Went on a tram today for the first time since We had to wear masks , what a joke , 16 people not wearing any mask even the ticket collector had one but was around he’s neck , what’s the point of it being the law if it’s not being followed, more people will now not be wearing one in future

Surgical masks ok for 4 hours unless wet or touch face.

I have always worn a mask in public (resuseable & bought off amazon), used handsanitier and have goid hand hygiene. Ive had covid, have the antibodies but was asymptomatic. Glad I did everything I could to avoid spreading, tho may have unwillingly spread it.
