Do you know if it still continues and what is the latest on it? I read on the clapping for our carers site that according to that it is still going on, will you be clapping tonight at 8pm? I will still do that to show support for them

New plans are for the NHS birthday weekend:

A minute’s silence on the evening of July 4 when people will be asked to light a candle in their window in remembrance of all who have died during this time.

A moment of thanks and connection on July 5 when we take part in one last country-wide clap of thanks and then stay out to raise a glass or have a cup of tea with our neighbours.

Just hope the fire brigade don't end up busy on the 4th

I'm on a conference call at that time every week so I've not clapped but I like to time a suggestion or idea with the clap so that everyone is applauding me

And in the 6th it's the official start to the "get Boris out" campaign

In remembrance to those that died needlessly, plus for selling out the NHS to big us drug companies at a cost of hundreds of millions

Get Boris out

For those us in the NHS we thank you all we’re just doing our job

As a colleague of mine pointed out why do so many people want to give us the clap!

Seriously though the Government plan to Privatise the NHS has back fired badly - all private hospitals closed and some even in financial difficulties because they have become part on the NHS - on a contract basis until at least July - the NHS is paying for the staff etc but everything else is financed by the hospitals. Some of these are priate for profit businesses but some are charities. So the conservative government is actually killing private hospitals.

The praise and adulation will soon cease and because of the amount of money the government owe there will be no pay rises for healthcare staff and certainly no medals

We will continue to do our jobs and hope that if nothing else people remember what we did and continue to do

Passing so many rainbows in the windows.

Has prompted one tune to mind..

Do you think if there is to be one last round of applause it should be accompanied by nation wide rendition of the following..

You all know the tune.

"Red and yellow and pink and green.

Orange and purple and blue

We will sing the rainbow

We will sing the rainbow

To say our thank you"

But not in the right hands....clearly don’t put it in a place where it won’t get knocked over or near net curtains....Sometimes I wonder how we ever managed in life, not everything comes with instructions.

I think it's the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
