“Why” is because of all the silly twats going out and screwing random people. Not to mention all the people that group up massively in parks and on beaches drinking. They’re going to start that peak!

“When” if the above don’t stop, it’ll be very soon. If that chills a bit we won’t have one I don’t think.

People are already kicking off because the death toll has been found not to be accurate, they’re putting Covid-19 on death certificates even if it wasn’t the cause of death because it’s just easier for them! Twats.

People also need to realise that yes, lockdown will soon be lifted and we can visit homes. But social distancing is going to remain for many more months and this is why nobody should be meeting for sex right now

I don’t wanna lose anyone, especially you guys! I enjoy my online wank bank of straight boys on my hot list and enjoy reading your chats and posts haha.

All covid deaths suspected or confirmed require a specific form to be filled in and sent to the relivent governece team for the trust in question , if a patient is suspected of having covid at the time of death their death certificate will state covid , which then becomes and official stat. I have no ideas of we have under or over public stats , I can only go on my own knowledge of which I know and witnessed

New Zealand is simple, it isn't an economic/travel hub and has a small population. Aus is similar. Spain took extreme measures, where in England during lockdown people could still enjoy their gardens; in Spain even that wasn't allowed.

"So where is your extra 20 ccome from "

Office of National Statistics state 40,000 with coronavirus on the death certificate.

They also give a figure of 60,000 deaths above the 'normal' death rate. For the period March - May.

I think its fsirlyvsafe to say that the only health anomaly in this period is Covid19.

Not all doctors will put Covid on the death certificate. If a patient has existing health issues, then Covid will accentuate this condition and accelerate deterioration and death. Have you noticed the phrase "died WITH Covid" being used? That means Covid didnt kill them.but caused other problems that did.

In addition, some people will have died because they didn't visit hospital due to worry, self isolation or existing, ongoing treatment not being available.

So now you know where the extra figures come from. And remember that care home deaths, although now included in official figures, lag behind the hospital figures for 1-2 weeks. So the death toll is actually higher

It's strange because I work with people from a wide range of social backgrounds, yet everyone has agreed that the government handled things badly from the word go.

We had a diluted version of lockdown that happened very late in the day. We are in the 1stcweek of June and quarantine is only just being introduced. People are angry because whilst they do the right thing, those who make the laws and give the "advice" choose to disregard it when it suits them, with no sanctions when they do. We are given "advice" not instructions. That isn't leadership.

Boris Johnson wants so much to be thought of as a modern Churchill, but he comes nowhere near.

Churchill gathered around him people he knew would het the job done. He took ownership of his government's policies. We have a prime minister who just wants to be liked.

Unfortunately that will not happen, many people need someone to blame and cannot look past that, the DC debacle proved that.

Central Portugal

They listened to idiots like Twitty who had no idea about the Virus but also didn't listen to the medical advice coming from Asia. On Wednesday we had more deaths from Covid than the whole of Europe put together because we aimed for a herd immunity which there was no medical evidence for and there was plenty against coming from every country in the world, particularly Italy and Spain whilst Boris was on Holiday.

We will have a second spike and it will be worse for BAME as they will be the ones risking their lives out marching because they think that they live in the U.S. and not the U.K. There will be a bigger spike in the states.

It is not rocket science, it is medical science and yet our government has used the yes prime minister four stage strategy of doing absolutely nothing until every other country in the world has proved it works three months earlier. They have been incompetent, lackadaisical and with the Cummings incident shown that lives are not as important as a serial loser who's sister has got a contract to do track and trace. Why have Apple or Microsofts tech when we can use Mr Cummings sister?

All governments have basic emergency planning in place for epidemics/pandemics. That's why they run simulations like the one 4 or 5 years ago. But despite finding serious shortcomings, they chose not to act.

Other countries such as New Zealand acted differently on the same advice and did much better. UK had the advantage of seeing it unfold elsewhere for several weeks, but didn't act soon enough.

And "the science" that is driving the government's policy is being actively ignored when it suits. Even the guys who appear at briefings are on record as saying this is happening now

This isnt being said with the benefit of hindsight- myself and the people I work with were all saying for several weeks prior to lockdown that it needed to happen and much more stringent.

The government are responsible for interpreting and using the data how they see fit. They could include it if they chose to.

Remember how the daily briefing used to include a slide comparing the uk death rate against other countries in Europe/world? Then the UK reached the top of the death rate stats and they said it was unfair to compare with other countries, despite having done exactly that for weeks.

If it makes them.look bad they won't use it. If they can look good they will. Priti Pattel actually crowed about lower crime rates- specifically burglary and street robberies- when people had been locked down for a few weeks. Burglars tend to go for empty houses and street were deserted!

If I was in Cummings position I would have stayed at home. I would not have assumed that my symptoms would get too bad that I wouldn't be able to care for a my small child. If my wife and I were both too sick to look after a small child then I would have got some help from my local network or social services.

I would not have spent 4-5 hours in a confined space with my child and almost certainly passed on the infection.

Catherine Calderwood and Neil Ferguson both held positions of responsibility in relation to covid-19. They resigned from their positions because they undermined confidence in the public health message. To continue in their roles was not an option.

Should everyone caught breaking the rules resign from their jobs? Where is the line?

we were told by the government he controls to stay at home. What makes you think that Cummings didn't break the rules? Because he had a childcare crisis?

I hate to blow you theory apart but the word 'suspected' is not allowed to appear on a death certificate. It's a long standing GRO guideline and the Coronavirus bill didn't change that.

No point blaming the government. Those not adhering to reccomendations with regard to the restrictions, isolation, social distancing and cross infection control hygiene are the significant culprits of spread.

Just look at the massive lack of consideration and social responsibility going on, even on here looking sex meets.

I would be surprised if a peak higher than the previous one doesn't occur and in not the too distant future.

So it's the british people who are stupid compared to those in other countries. Well, that explains Brexit...

As for a 2nd peak as high as the last one I disagree. Covid-19 passed through the country unnoticed earlier than originally thought. Now we have social distancing in place, people working from home long term etc. If this is relaxed and numbers creep back up (this will be tracked for many years) then restrictions will be put in place to prevent it getting out of control.

Absolutely every reason to blame the shower of shit which is Boris & co.

Weak leadership

Inconsistent guidelines

Indecisive and late decision making

Cummings

the government mantra was Stay Home back in March, it still is Stay Home, but guess what....People are not Staying Home but it won’t be their fault if a friend or relative becomes ill with the virus or that numbers are still high, it will be the governments because they didn’t act sooner, not theirs for not doing as advised the past 11 weeks, surely it’s everyones responsibility to try and not spread the virus not just one mans

Yes, of course we all have responsibility but the messages coming from our government have been poor. You have highlighted one. Stay at Home...Oh that got dropped to Stay Safe. What does that mean? Do I have to stay at home or can I go out but carry a condom with me!?

Why are we one of the few nations that aren't able to follow the advice?"

They have always said Stay Home where possible, the government website still says it, only some people thought once they relaxed the lockdown they could go about normal business, no, it still says Stay Home so we should still stay home as much as possible to stop the spread, people surely know this, if you honestly feel carrying a condom makes you safe whilst out and about than at staying home does, gosh help us lol

To answer OP directly.

Second peak soon.....

Why? Mass protests over George Floyd (which I fully understand the desire for) with huge numbers (many BAME who are known to be more susceptible) crammed together with no social distancing.

Surely this is going to cause a big jump in infections....?

I heard this from a London NHS consultant. The virus has mutated 10 times already, is incredibly successful and highly unpredictable. The scientists don’t think it will mutate to a less successful form so a 2nd wave likely to coincide with flu season starting in Oct.

It’s something that is likely to become endemic even if vaccines found as antibodies don’t last apparently.

Maybe if the government imposed real fines? But then, why would they? They wanted it to spread...from a quick Google I found this...

Spain

------

The fines for breaking the lockdown range from €601 up to €10,400 and can be applied using the controversial Citizen’s Security Law or Gag Law as it has been dubbed.

Germany

-------

Germans risk being fined up to 500 euros ($540) for standing too close to each other from Friday as officials crack down on people flouting rules brought in to control coronavirus

Italy

-----

Those who violate the containment measures could receive a fine of between €400 (£360) and €3,000 (£2,700).

France

------

Coronavirus lockdown fines in France can range from 35 to 3,700 euros and a six-month prison sentence for repeated breaches. £25 million’s worth of fines have already been imposed by officials

UK

--

The government has passed new emergency legislation through the Coronavirus bill, allowing the police to enforce these new rules.

They have been given the powers to disperse gatherings and impose fines of £60 on anyone who refuses to comply. This will be reduced to £30 if paid within two weeks. Larger fines of between £120 and £1,000 can be imposed for repeat offences.

Except the rules you suggest really weren't the rules across the EU...

The rules in the EU ranged from no exercise in Spain to no lockdown in Sweden.

Exercise was permitted in Italy and Germany and likely most other countries. Spain was an exception.

As for "we don't like rules". That's utter bullshit. The vast majority of the UK stuck to the rules for weeks on end. It's not a strength. It's arrogant stupidity!

Most of those are ancillary aspects of the lockdown. And test track and trace remains pie in the sky for now.

And lets be honest, even with these measures in place people are getting infected in thousands and dying in hundreds every day.

Full lockdown, with associated precautions for those who could not avoid going out, was barely holding this. Any relaxation MUST have an adverse impact.

I assume if you were in his position and had to make the decision you would have done the same, He did not break any rules and you calling for him to be Sack Well ok Sack him what about the 4 Labour MP's going to parties, Attending funeral over 100 people list goes on but no don't hear about these people getting called to be sacked get your facts before you blame don't get caught up in what media wants you to hear do your own research elsewhere lol we might as well sack everyone haha

"

So you wouldn't spend hours with your child, so you must lock them in the bedrooms so you can watch TV without infecting them?

To me I don’t believe in riots and violence in any form we a civilised society of humans and it’s always the minority who go that step to far and make things dangerous for the people who are trying to make a point without resorting to destroying innocent lives and property all for there own gain

I don’t condone what has happened one little bit and do believe that justice needs to be served by the people who are in that position to serve it

Main stream news such as BBC want to appear sympathetic towards the BLM protesters so sanitise the news coverage, but it easy to find film clips on social media showing the true incidents of these so called peaceful protesters rioting and goading the police to get a reaction and being violent, and anyone who opposes the fact that they are protesting on mass when they should be social distancing and preventing the spread of the virus, you guessed it, they are racist!

Face coverings aren't mandatory. The odd person wearing them in supermarkets here and there isn't going to make a difference.

The rates are coming down despite those ignoring the rules. Force them into wearing masks in public then they will have at least one rule they must follow.

The 2nd wave will come when that fault in Norway fails a few 1000 cubic km of Norway then heaves about and because the North Sea is relatively shallow a huge tidal wave will engulf the majority of the UK......so we are doomed....

Maybe we should try to be a bit positive. After all what can you do about it. Absolutely nothing. Except do your best to stay away from fools. I have kept myself isolated since February im not doing anything different than i did then. So if i catch it its not because i was protesting. Or mixing with crowds. There are so many reports its hard to keep up. So im adopting the same practice as my daughter and granddaughters in Hong Kong were they managed very successfully to contain it. Unlike our government. Lockdown should have happened the minute we heard about it. No flights in or out. Anyone entering should have gone into quarantine but no we didnt people marched into this country and went their merry way. How do i know? Because i know several who did just that. So im afraid we have the government to thank so we must do our best to stay healthy and free of it. If its going to get you there is absolutely nothing you can do except pray. Not wishing to be a doom and gloom but all these reports are not backed up by proof that i can see. So forget the others and take care of yourselves because its all you have.

There a nice happy thought for the day lol

For clarity you have absolutely no evidence to base your statement of what will happen in the future. So you certainly can’t tell anyone ‘what will happen’, BUT I accept you are expressing your opinion which you are fully entitled to do so. Thus with the same theme in mind, I am expressing my opinion and stating that your doom and gloom laden prediction is bollox!

Lol you are clearly deluded and enjoy making assumptions on the flimsiest of excuse. Clearly if you haven’t evidence to predict the future then neither have I. What I can say however is that you are clearly someone who enjoys being depressed and finds comfort in depressing all those around you. Enjoy your tunnel.

This country is incapable of organising a piss up in a brewery. We believe in civil liberties, laissez-faire, common sense etc... All good but during in a pandemic, what you need is different. You need tough measures and disciplined citizens.

In France people needed paperwork to get out of their house. Not very pleasant but it worked. In Germany, most people are disciplined.

I often say that the way a country does roadworks reflects the way it is organised. No need for me to mention the dreadful state of our roads full of potholes and those roadworks that last for years. No planning. We wait for potholes to be craters before fixing them. We’re too reactive and not proactive enough. This gvt has played catch up since day one. Always a step behind.

This sums everything up. The quarantine imposed since yesterday is a complete joke. On the news they showed Heathrow yesterday. No police or staff to check or inform people what to do. Shambolic. This gvt is full of rhetoric and that’s it. You scratch the surface and it’s full of shit underneath. And they still have the balls to tell us they’re doing a great job!

Whether or not they include care homes or not the stats are still overly inflated. People are dying of cancer or heart attacks (for example) and are having Covid put down as cause of death because they aren't being tested

Healthy economy is key to a happy society. Of course there needs to bbw a balance, the difficult question is where that is.

If you believe in economics and a free market, then no borders and little regulation of trade as the market will find itself will create the most wealth. Invest in social welfare to balance the inequalities this system causes (rich always get rich, poor poorer) and we’re all better off. Tony Blair’s government was the last to achieve this, but they did have very favourable conditions. A thriving world economy, end of the Cold War and resulting feel good, and we were naturally exiting a severe recession.

This government has some opportunities and some threats. We are going to exit a severe recession or even depression at somepoint. Riding on those coat tails should be easy; the flip side- Brexit. Leaving one of the worlds largest free trade zones (and out biggest market) to enter the waters unknown. A trade deal with the US is being negotiated in secret and whilst we are all distracted. It doesn’t take s genius to work out that given the massive US size advantage, we can’t expect very equitable terms. Also, knowing the UK is desperate to protect financial services and the city of London at all costs, the US is free to really stick it to us. Healthcare farming manufacturing are all going to suffer in the UK. Anyone who believes we can expect a fair and equal exchange is living in dreamland.

This is the real scandal, the virus is the perfect cover to crash out of Europe and sell out the nhs and farmers with no open and honest consultation with a distracted nation.

So the failings coupled with the shameless opportunism to line the pockets of the super rich conservatives is tantamount to treason against the people of the UK.
