"As per the link I posted above, the way in which deaths are being certified has changed and this may well explain a whole lot of deaths which have been wrongly attributed to Covid. " And probably a few more deaths from covid from the beginning and before covid was confirmed and probably a few missed so may be higher. My people are going for around 50 thousand plus. And maybe another 10 or 20 thousand from people to scared or unable to have medical care from other things.

"This article by a leading Pathologist explains a lot: https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-way-covid-deaths-are-being-counted-is-a-national-scandal "... Normally, two doctors are needed to certify a death, one of whom has been treating the patient or who knows them and has seen them recently. That has changed. For Covid-19 only, the certification can be made by a single doctor, and there is no requirement for them to have examined, or even met, the patient. ..." "...Care home providers, most of whom are not medically trained, may make a statement to the effect that a patient has died of Covid-19. In the words of the Office for National Statistics, this ‘may or may not correspond to a medical diagnosis or test result, or be reflected in the death certification’. From 29 March the numbers of ‘Covid deaths’ have included all cases where Covid-19 was simply mentioned on the death certificate — irrespective of positive testing and whether or not it may have been incidental to, or directly responsible for, death. From 29 April the numbers include the care home cases simply considered likely to be Covid-19." No wonder some figures are as high as they are. Under covid19 rules undertakes can't sign off death certificates. You couldn't make it up. " That’s incredibly rare. Just because the power is there doesn’t mean it’s being used. That was brought in with the emergency legislation in anticipation of dealing with a level of deaths at home that couldn’t be dealt with in the usual way. In the hospital trust I work for all deaths are being dealt with in the usual way - two doctors, one who has seen the patient etc.

"The ONS gives all deaths" They do

"The ONS gives all deaths" Unfortunately not for all of the UK and not easily interpretable by cause other than the presence or suspected presence of covid19 which would be interesting

"I think they give all deaths, excess deaths and deaths which are from covid" Cross reference these with the 5 year average and it’s possible to determine if there are any excess deaths (non covid)

" Is there a link that gives a breakdown ?" The most interesting statistics I have seen are the ones which show the weekly "deaths from all causes" against the 5 year average for the same week. It is especially interesting in April when the weekly death toll suddenly shoots up to almost double the average. Cal

Eg increase in cardiac related deaths or suidide related deaths .. well none that I've noticed
