Probably not as many that have died have not necessarily died due to covid just they tested positive at the time, it could have been due to their pre-existing condition.

We will never know how many people have died of covid19 some experts think about 30,000 in the UK. Maybe one day the truth will come but I doubt it.

And probably a few more deaths from covid from the beginning and before covid was confirmed and probably a few missed so may be higher. My people are going for around 50 thousand plus. And maybe another 10 or 20 thousand from people to scared or unable to have medical care from other things.

"...Care home providers, most of whom are not medically trained, may make a statement to the effect that a patient has died of Covid-19. In the words of the Office for National Statistics, this ‘may or may not correspond to a medical diagnosis or test result, or be reflected in the death certification’. From 29 March the numbers of ‘Covid deaths’ have included all cases where Covid-19 was simply mentioned on the death certificate — irrespective of positive testing and whether or not it may have been incidental to, or directly responsible for, death. From 29 April the numbers include the care home cases simply considered likely to be Covid-19."

No wonder some figures are as high as they are.

Under covid19 rules undertakes can't sign off death certificates. You couldn't make it up. "

That’s incredibly rare. Just because the power is there doesn’t mean it’s being used.

That was brought in with the emergency legislation in anticipation of dealing with a level of deaths at home that couldn’t be dealt with in the usual way.

In the hospital trust I work for all deaths are being dealt with in the usual way - two doctors, one who has seen the patient etc.

Cross reference these with the 5 year average and it’s possible to determine if there are any excess deaths (non covid)

This is a good example of what is happening and why covid death rate in the U.K. is very very wrong....

There's no doubting the increase and that's it's due to Covid but it's not easy to see the breakdowns of causes of other deaths. Eg increase in cardiac related deaths or suidide related deaths .. well none that I've noticed

Public Health England is the best place for that, but it's not an easy read, be prepared to trawl through the data to find what you are looking for
