The end of the good weather

with the weather is set to change and a lot less sunshine and rain, how do people think they Will cope ? Its been bad enough locked down but able to go into the garden and be comfortable, out for walks and bike rides etc..if its cloudy, raining or cold how do you think it will effect people ? Certainly we think it will raise the levels of depression etc. How will you fight the depression of being indoors all the time ?

The weather has been fantastic which has mad lockdown easier to tolerate. If this changes then it will be so much tougher as i will be unable to sit in the garden or take my dogs out for lovely walks.

It wasn't particularly nice at the start of lockdown back in March so I don't see it being any different now?

Is it you or your dogs that don't like the rain?! Lol Our dogs go out in all weathers as they need exercise. They would literally sit with their lead in their mouth with sad eyes haha xx

Put a jacket on, get an umbrella and get out in it. Don't let a little rain stop you. Fresh air and excercise is never a bad thing rain or shine

I love the warm weather.

Being able to enjoy the sun in the garden and going out for walks has been a life saver.

I say no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing but kind of kidding myself as it’s poop being on the water in hailstone even with waterproofs on, it is so much more enjoyable outdoors when the sun shines

I will really miss the good weather, it definitely has made it easier for me and helped me both mentally and physically.

I also managed to get quite a few outdoor jobs done and I have more in mind at the moment that will have to be put on hold

To hot to work sometimes in that heat wave, But at least now can get on with a roof rip off and rebuild in cooler weather without getting burnt to a crisp.

As a multiple dog owner, the weather doesn't bother me, however I have been wondering how people are going to be when (if) the 2nd or 3rd wave of the virus comes and it's winter time.

Standing in 30 min queues outside shops is hard for less able bodied and elderly folk already, I imagine it's going to be tough on them in the winter.

Also I heard on the radio yesterday that the reason that so many have volunteered to help vunerable others with shopping and picking up prescriptions etc is partly due to wanting to get out of the house. Many of those mightn't be as keep if it's pouring down or blowing a gale

I hope that's not the case.

The gardens and fields need a good soak here so I can forgive a quick change in the weather. We'd best get summer back though.

I go a walk to the beach every day, it's the same as it always is on the beach no different than last year. People go to the beach find a spot and sit down, who wants to sit by other people on the beach virus or no virus. Take no notice of media reports it's all bollocks to sell news.

It's a shame that I can post pictures of the beach when we went - it was very very busy - but no group was closer than 10 meters from any other group. But the online news that night reported a beach

'Crowds overflowing at the beach - on lockdown'.

And a long lens shot that makes people look all sat on top of each other. While undoubtedly there are rule breakers the rest was just lies.

They could have reported . . .

'people enjoying the beach during lockdown easing, and mostly they are keeping to the rules'

God forbid they should be rallying the people with good feelings !!!

I’m amazed that a post on the forecasted weather change in early June can even begin to start a discussion on people’s depression and mental well-being associated with cv-19. What bollox!! What would be truly and understandably depressing, is that through our inherent and insidious pollution of the planet, the UK stayed moisture free for the next three months and led to national water rationing, loss of crops, deterioration of natural habitats and the promotion of conditions for widespread fires within our national parks and open spaces. Ffs get real and thank f**k the climate in the UK is just about still behaving normally.

I'm eager to get the rain for my plants. The cooler weather will help with better sleep quality, so I'm seeing a lot of positive aspects of the change.

It will be a shock, to be colder but we're now in a season with generally better weather than spring.

If it rained for 6 weeks I'd be miserable but I'm guessing it's not going to

Meh. The weather for walking thr dog doesn't really stop me but the weather does certainly make sitting in the garden on my days of rest a none starter.

And the gloomy weather certainly makes me less cheerful. X not looking forward to standing in queues either x

I'm not lucky enough to have my own garden so honestly for the most part I've really hated all this sun, couldn't have come at a worse time for me.

So now it's raining I love it! Feels a little less annoying to be stuck inside.

Same here. The unlimited exercise rule helped a bit with getting out more but for the last week I've been working all day every day stuck inside.

Sod's law that as soon as I'm done the weather changes! On the other hand I can't use the heat as an excuse to put off starting my "couch to 5k"...
