Oh my fucking goodness.

Just had the Covid-19 test and I’d heard it was a bit unpleasant but fuck me id rather have something stuck up or indeed down my japs eye rather than do that again.

They stick a long cotton bud up your nose and I swear the bastard thing came out of my arse hole.

Takes seconds and my nose is very clear now but it brought tears to my eyes.

Ouchy!!!!!

Have you seriously never had a nose swab?

Most people have one when admitted to hospital and it doesn't hurt, its slightly uncomfortable.

Putting people off from having a swab isn't the best thing.

No never and yes you are right it was not painful just uncomfortable and I very much doubt a throwaway post on here will put people off from having the test.

My partner had it. Nose and throat swab. If it was painful they pushed to far up your nose. It's only meant to go to point of resistance.

My partner tested positive. And despite me been a nurse and living with him. They wont test me. On my last 6 days of 14 day isolation as guidance states to do but continuing working from home. Cannt wait to get back to work. Lol.

No throat swab and I suppose I was just not ready for the swab going that far in.

Hope your other half is ok and you get back to work ASAP.

Hospital is in the middle of nowhere and when I asked how long for the results the chap said at Chateauroux (nearest city) two days but here a week !!

They're not meant to be trying to pull some brain cells out with it

Conversely, it makes you compare the home self-tests with the others and the differences in what they are doing

As if I’ve got any brain cells to pull out I’m a builder (sorry to any builders with brain cells)

but my ears did ache after the swab.

Still lunch was nice today.

The nose bit didn't bother me, I didn't like the throat bit. That bud going right past me clacker made me gip.

Were both fine no symptoms at all

He was tested die to him being high risk due to past medical issues with chest and lungs. Both very surprised it came back positive.

He did have a pretty bad cold in March. So unless that was it who knows when or were he picked it up. Xx
