"Here in Wales we are still locked down and I think it's the same in Scotland. Makes me think with such a big population in England it seems crazy that they have relaxed things earlier. " England drives a large part of the economy, so that might contribute to the reason why this is so. Although saying that, Paris seems to have more restrictions in place compared to some other parts of the country.

"Went for more very long walks/bike rides in country parks on the first lockdown than I do generally at any other time. " Not surprising, as I guess you may have enjoyed it more this time compared to when you did it before with larger crowds around.

"Everyone stay inside and destroy their immune system then go out when the economy is zero no pubs open shops boarded up. Coronovirus is still around like the common cold which is the same family of viruses btw. What is better living life now or dieing indoors bored senseless." interesting that you bring up staying in and the immune system. Was having the same chat with a doctor friend of mine. She was saying she worries that its going to have a negative impact on peoples immune systems because we arent being exposed to anything. My home schooled daughter was a good example of that. She has been home schooled for 2 years or more now ... and basically has barely been ill. She still mixes with others but not like she would if she were at school. She went to a school/ college programme for a week just before lockdown and she got a tummy bug.. followed by a cold. doctor said it was because she had been more isolated for thr past 2 years and hadnt been exposed to things

Coronavirus family is only one type that make up the common cold. It was suggested on the Horizon programme that in years to come this too could become like that as it's believed that one of the CVs may have caused a pandemic in the late 1800s (1890 I think). However, we have to react to what CV19 is doing now, not what it might be like in years to come.

"See message above, if you are not exposed to germs viruses etc in small harmless doses which are around all the time you are less likely to cope with flu or covid." Rubbish. What you become exposed to helps you fight re-exposure to THOSE pathogens. It doesn't help you fight different viruses. It simply means the adaptive part of the immune system is not getting the opportunity to adapt.

"It simply means the adaptive part of the immune system is not getting the opportunity to adapt. " and that is bad for us. Apparently... I am not a viral specialist but it was what was told to me by a doctor. It was also similar to the argument coming from when parents were cleaning everything with antibacterial wipes etc for kids... worrying about them picking up germs... and there was a lot of research that suggested that too clean and not exposed could lean to immune system issues

Long before I got into health care (and uni), I was advised my daughter's immune system would improve. I now understand how. But CV19 is new to all of us. We already know some sufferers have produced antibodies and some haven't. The way immune system works suggests those who haven't got antibodies should still have produced the memory cells that will aid the fight against a repeat exposure. I haven't (at least yet) read anything that amounts to an immune system being less efficient if it doesn't get to exercise its abilities to an x extent.

"A government driven by ideology and pathological frauds, without care for the masses. You only have a place to be used for their ends. Compassion is absent. There's no transparency as citizens are not worthy of it. We must do their bidding, whatever the science, or lack of, that drives their orders to us. Ending of lockdown was too early if we can't get the full SAGE advice and full political conversation. " Away from that, we have to strike a balance at the moment. The public would probably not accept renewal of lockdown for several additional months at a time, nor to be deprived of the coming summer weather etc - especially millions of people without their own outdoors areas to use. It's a really difficult situation to manage, where - just in England - different areas have varied infection density and changing rates of infection infection. Other countries imposed regional restrictions that varied but these would likely have been less tolerated by people in England imo. There's been a fair surge in demand for liberty here.

A lot of companies are doing record business since lockdown started if they're in the right areas, and with everyone still getting paid a decent amount there will be pent up demand for many goods and services. That's why the stock market rebounded so well after an initial dip, the people who know arent expecting a massive downturn like we had in 2008 and we survived that.

Nine thousand Rolls Royce workers would disagree with you. I know personally two people who have lost their jobs while on furlough. Lots of small businesses will find it hard if not impossible to ride this out. Will be lots of pubs that don’t survive. Think you got your head in the sand if you think the economy will be fine after this.

"There was never any choice it was always going to happen. People forget this was always Johnson's plan as he discussed at the start of the outbreak. They said one of the options was to flatten the curve and push it into the summer, and then achieve his herd immunity over the summer to prevent the second wave in the winter. They want 60% of the population to get covid19 this summer. They are loving the packed beaches. They wanted the congestion charge raised and extended to make sure people get back on public transport to help keep infection rates steady over the summer up to 60%. " I cannot dispute what you're saying as I've stated similar before the lockdown. There is a problem with this as not everybody who has had the virus has produced antibodies. They should still have produced the memory cells to fight another exposure and therefore theoretically have a shorter illness but will still be infectious. If there is immunity via antibodies we don't know length of immunity. To achieve population immunity we need to know the unknown. Until then it is conjecture.

"It would have made more sense to lock down earlier, to have quarantined anyone flying into the country, to have recognised the severity of the disease and not left Care Homes exposed. In terms of differing strategies in the 4 home nations, it would have made more sense to recognise that different parts are affected in different ways. England should not have one response, London was the centre of the virus for a while, but is less affected than other areas in England, so relaxation rules could apply by region. It makes no sense whatsoever to let people travel anywhere in England for excercise. It would have been better to allow limited travel from home, perhaps 10 miles and then 25 after seeing the impact. Sadly, the Government didn’t have a plan going into this and they most certainly don’t have one coming out of it "

"Here in Wales we are still locked down and I think it's the same in Scotland. Makes me think with such a big population in England it seems crazy that they have relaxed things earlier. Why ? More chance of it spreading throughout England So what's the options, stay at home until October and wait until the winter to end lockdown and saturate the NHS or give it a go now when viruses are least virulent ? Could of waited a couple more weeks like the rest of the UK. I think it would of saved a lot of outbreaks. What outbreaks ? Where are they ? Have you been living on another planet for the last few months How can you save on outbreaks in the past by extending the lockdown? I don't mean the past "The last few months" is the past. You are confusing me now lol Which proves to me that you don't have a clue to the nonsense you spouted: "Could of waited a couple more weeks like the rest of the UK. I think it would of saved a lot of outbreaks." I still stand by it and what I mean by that is.. I think it would of prevented more cases from occurring. Cases were still occurring before some of the restrictions were lifted, so you're still wrong, it would not HAVE prevented more cases occurring. However, there may have been less cases and only a rise in numbers will suggest that in time to come. " You seem to think that I'm talking about the past. I'm not. Nothing can change what happened.

" I'm communicating in the same tense as you. You state "would of" instead of "would have" and I'm responding with "would not have" alongside a rationale as to why. However, if you are correct, we have yet to see the evidence (as cases are continuing at a low rate).
