No second wave been recorded anywhere yet, little break outs but no mass deaths. Project fear wearing a bit thin now.

London's population is over 9 million.

No new cases in that many people has to be good news and at least a positive sign.

Light at the end of the tunnel I hope.

Would love to see this stat in 1 to 2 weeks time when the carriers are spreading it in the packed tubes. Plus there will be many who have simply not been tested. I also wonder if its London tests that have been sent abroad delaying the numbers.

That is possible, but it's good news that people are coping with it more and more and not needing hospital, not so good if they are shedding the virus because they haven't isolated themselves, are only people who have a fever going to be tested? We need to be mass testing as many people as possible now to get a true figure of the asymptomatic cases

"1 death to every 125 thousand "

Check your calculation.

Population of the UK, divided by deaths from Covis 19 in the UK is

64,000,000 ÷ 35,700= 1,793 (roughly)

That's a big difference. Or are you doing global figures? Including places where Coronavirus is yet to reach or be recorded

I calculated on daily figures not total figures

64 million divided by 400 recorded deaths yesterday

165 thousand

Why bring negativity to a positive thing.

Odd.

"That's really quite amazing, got to hand it to the Londoners for managing that "

It's not amazing at all it is the normal pattern for a virus. It was past it's peak before lockdown, which if you recall we were told was to 'flatten the curve' (to stop the NHS being overwhelmed). The NHS wasn't overwhelmed and in effect the emergency hospitals have not been used. which brings us back to why the hell are we still imprisoned in our homes?

The virus has taken it's course reaching herd immunity levels in some places. It's nothing to do with lockdown. If it were all those people working everyday in supermarkets etc. to keep you supplied with food should be dead by now.

No new cases reported in London that we know of.

I fear it could kick back up once we all get back into our old routines.

However I think it's been all blown out of proportion from the start.

London was the most affected area at the start. I wonder if the herd immunity theory is therefore correct.

"But there will be a 2nd wave of it....just wait and see..No second wave been recorded anywhere yet, little break outs but no mass deaths. Project fear wearing a bit thin now. "

In the 1918-19 flu epidemic there was little attempt to manage it, and the second wave was the biggest (and hit young people especially hard).

The idea of good management is to avoid it, so hopefully it won't happen. Let's not have that demented 'project fear' meme over COVID.
