So it looks like it'll be ready for us to use soon, instead of it beeping an hour later when you've been somewhere near a carrier why couldn't it alert you before the contact, ie about 20 feet proximity, you'd know to be a little more cautious etc.

Just a thought.

all loved up

I think because it will be notifying you if someone you came into contact with comes into contact with you that later on becomes infected. As no one should be out if they know they have the virus

"I feel this app is a case of after the horse has bolted"

By now the horse is probably in the glue factory, along with every other horse we've had since this started.

The app is important going forward though. If we can just isolate people that pose a risk to others I think we'll all be happy. A 2nd full lockdown later in the year would probably start a civil war!

Once the person with the app is tested positive they will be required to isolate and you won't be able to be close to them

It's a useful tool not a psychic

People should be cautious all the time.

It's going to be pointless anyway. A woman in IOM on the news yesterday made a comment that she knew someone who had an app alert to say they'd been in close proximity with a covid infected person in Tesco - they should therefore self isolate for 7 days.

However the person said they couldn't afford to be off work and just wouldn't take their phone the next time they go to Tesco... !!
