Coronavirus "Is This The End Of Swinging?"

With more information now indicating social distancing is he to stay for the foreseeable future and there is less likely to be any kind of quick fix (vaccine) for at least a year or more. Does this mean the swinging scene, in particular group sex is now a thing of the past?

And how will clubs change or exist under this new "norm"?

I'd genuinely be really interested to know peoples thoughts..

I genuinely can't see social distance lasting ages. Simply because humans need social contact.

Swinging will survive.

Plenty of people ignoring social distancing on London buses this week.

No. People have interests and pursue many of them despite enormous risk. The virus will diminish in perceived risk over time. HIV did not kill sex and gay/bi club interests etc.

Clubs will adapt as will customers. Increased social benefits, easier to filter out the unmatched online users etc, in a safer environment than going to homes. Perhaps people will meet several more times before any sex.

I think it will survive. Things seem very bleak at the moment.

After things calm down and people become more confident it will start bubbling again.

Also a period of abstinence may be in order out of respect for those who have passed.

i dont think so, that would suggest single people would never date again either because it wouldn’t be social distanced... it's just not realistic, over time people will find a way to return their life to as much as was normal for them with some adaptations, if it included swinging before i would expect it to again

If that's the case all dating apps will have to close down, as no one will meet again. No more new children nhs will cope ok then.

...and the other 75%? Well aids didn't kill it off with many bisexuals pretending to be straight and HIV was seen as a gay disease.

Thing is people will have to interact, just take precautions. In swinging we practice safe sex as best we can, knowing a split condom etc can lead to life changing problems: doesn't stop us.

I think swinging will change, but definitely not end. We may be more careful about how and who we meet. In the past many would go out and meet if they had a sniffle or a cough, or just feeling a little off, where now some may be less Inclined to. Those who have had it might want to rather meet others who have, those who haven't might not meet anymore..... There's so many different variables that will change what risks each person is prepared to take.... But for the most part, swinging will continue

Not all BBW are diabetic, me being one of them and I have a friend who is 6ft 7 and built like a stick who is diabetic so are they going to stop those groups from meeting too?

People are social creatures who for the most part seek intimacy from others. Regardless of risks or measures in place, people will be driven by their own needs.

Will it be the end of clubs? I've no idea. Many probably don't make a lot of money so I'm not sure all will survive this period.

Let's just think of it as a "reset". I am thinking that as much as lockdown has stopped COVID-19 from spreading it has probably reduced the incidence of curable STDs which rely on their spread before cure to survive.

Rumour are they may never have a vaccine and the virus will always be with us like the common cold or flue.

Do we social distance forever.

“ as singles in society “ does this mean we can no longer go out socialise and meet people Are we supposed to have no social life.

There's currently a 0.27% risk you'll be swinging with someone infected, there's an even lower chance you would get infected and an even lower chance you would show symptoms and am even lower chance again they you would have serious complications

I'm not going to try and put stupid figures to it but if someone isn't coughing and spluttering I'd be happy with the odds.

The chances are changing every day. Just now the chances of catching it are the same as being in car crash. The chances of dying are the same as dying from the crash. Everything you do is a risk you just have to decide what risks you take.

Let's start off by defining swinging as taking a total strangers genitals and putting them in your mouth without the slightest idea of where they have been. And start from there...

Jesus you lot !!! You're making it sound like it's the end of the world !!! We will of course get through this. Vaccine or no Vaccine the virus will eventually infect 60% of the population and heard immunity will kick in!!! It's happened before and it will happen again ... Having too much social distancing will just prolong things !!! We could all be going around wearing full PPE,that way no one would be infected but it gets us no where !!!

Well the SARS virus died out before a vaccine could be produced for it.

The principle of wiping out a virus is keeping the infected and uninfected seperate for duration of contagiousness. To do that you need to know who is infected and who isn't. That's why testing is such an issue.

I think long after this virus has gone the mechanisms for testing will still be in place for the next virus WHEN not IF it comes.

Why not just test everyone.

This. We will only eliminate the virus when we get testing sorted out.

In a hypothetical scenario where it is known who in the world has the virus and who doesn't and the two are isolated the virus gets wiped off the face of the earth in two weeks or so.

We will get back to swinging eventually, just appreciate it more!

To work out just in this country who has and doesn't have the virus, you would have to test all 70 million every day and slow isolate people with the virus. Testing is a red herring to look like they are doing something. You can have the test then drive to the shop and catch the virus waste of time.

Not true, you can slow the infection rates by testing, remember, they aren't trying to stop the virus just slow the spread.

Here's the thing. Lots of us stay at home. We don't need to be tested. Some of us are known to be infected, they don't need to be tested either. Some of us have had it already. They don't need to be tested either.

Which leaves people who have to leave home for essential work. If you test as many of them as you can you can track, trace and isolate them and everyone they have in contact with and isolate them. As the numbers go down the easier this becomes.

But it all revolves around testing.

But it does not help to eliminate the virus within your borders only to have people coming in and spreading it again (as is happening in China). You need to test everyone coming through your border posts and not release them into general population until they have proved negative.

I agree N_N. There is also the possibility of small groups creating bubbles where we know each other is safe and where we trust each other to stay safe. The Dutch authorities have just suggested that singles do just that.
