"With the new changes introduced into England. Does this now mean that as long as social distancing is adhered to, non physical social meets are now ok? " nope. Its I believe meant to be one other person. Not multiple other persons and not for any length of time. I could be wrong though

Surely there is a member of your family, or a friend, you would prefer to catch up with rather than meet a total stranger?

"It's guidance not law and how could anyone possibly check of you met one two or three people a day" It's also about common sense which unfortunately many don't have

"It's guidance not law and how could anyone possibly check of you met one two or three people a day" Actually it is Law: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/350/regulation/6 Although I agree with you that it is largely unenforceable.

"Good God, can people not just use common sense, if you don't care about catching the virus ignore the advice(the human race would probably benefit with out you) ..but for those with a brain, carry on following safe measures, and live to tell your tale to your grandchildren. "

"So you can meet one friend or one family member outside at a 2m distance, that's good. We can go to the park or beach for a picnic as long as we are 2m away from the family of six next to us that we have never met before. So if we then make friends with said people of six, at the 2m distance, that will be good. Here's the thing. we are now friends with the family of six so does that mean the next day we can only see one of them and if they are all in the park we have to stay well away from them.... " Or if you are capable then make a risk assessment and decide what's best for you and them

We are going no where this year. We'll watch from behind closed doors and see how it all pans out in the coming months. Don't wanna be in the middle when it kicks off again

" Or if you are capable then make a risk assessment and decide what's best for you and them" We've done ours and as it is a disease with roughly the same fatality rate as severe flu which affect mainly older people with other conditions and for which the true overall number of deaths in the UK is likely to be less than from those caused by air pollution we have no concerns whatsoever. I'd also add that we have post degree level science qualifications and several members of the family who work in the NHS so we are quite competent to read and assess scientific papers. Additionally the Government’s own advisory body (The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens) downgraded the status of Covid 19 back on the 19th March (That was before the lockdown) and said: As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK. So we are following the science not the hysteria.
