"Yes my 13 year-old, is also very disappointed. She doesn't completely understand what's going on and and has anxiety issues, she really wants to see one of her very close friends who also have some mental health stability issues. It's a very difficult time for them both." Yeah I can imagine it’s even more difficult to get your bead round at such a young age. Hope you’re all keeping well though!

"Honestly, kind of disappointed with the outcome of the announcement today. Lockdown has been really taxing on my mental health and I was really holding out for being able to see a friend or something. To hear there will be no more changes other than sitting in a park for the next 3 weeks is quite disappointing " me too. Not just for myself but for my daughter who simply doesnt understand..and for the people I speak to on the help and support Lines... I'm not sure they will all manage another 3 weeks.

They had a chat standing apart for about 5 mins but it literally made such a difference to her, really brightened her weekend up ![]()

" Thank you, I am trying to think of fun things she can do to help her friend, she did send her a letter with her favourite chewing gum (which is some kind of private joke between the two of them) and a photo collage she had made of them both. But she really just wants to give her a hug. we are all I think the same as everybody doing our best to keep positive and busy. There is lots that we get on with at home, but the restrictions sometimes can weigh heavily mentally. We are lucky though that we can stay home, I appreciate everybody who is is putting in so many hours to keep us safe.

"I think I’m just having a rough time because I had taken a year out of uni and quit my job to travel this year. Then unfortunately I had to come home to no job and all my other trips cancelled for the foreseeable future ![]() That is really harsh and and must have taken a little while for you to change your expectations so much of what this year was going to hold. hopefully it will be more of a postponement and sometime in the future you will get a chance to explore the planet even if it is not at soon before that will be possible.

Then unfortunately I had to come home to no job and all my other trips cancelled for the foreseeable future ![]() it isnt just you. I answer the phone for a well known charity... and I actually didnt want to do any calls tonight as I knew I'd not be cheery enough. I had really hoped for an increase in our social circle. I'm a total social butterfly and while I'm still seeing lots of people daily... they arent my friends... and I just want to hug my friends.

"Personally I think. The measures should have been made harsher not relaxing. Controlling this is going to be a nightmare. " why when the r number is below 1

"I don't want to belittle or minimize the hardship and strain that our nation is going through, but I have been in a lot of countries, seen opulent wealth and abject poverty. Each night I go to bed knowing that I have a full belly, a comfortable bed and roof over my head. I have done nothing to deserve this except be born to the right parents in the right country at the right time. At times when I feel sorry for myself I think of those less fortunate than myself and am reminded of the phrase "there but for the grace of God go I" Perhaps when all this has passed we will be more grateful for the little things we always took for granted? Hang in there my fab friends! Xxx" those are all good points and things that I also remind my family of daily. Sometime, even though you know that's right, it doesn't necessarily help with the frustrations or empty spaces inside

"Personally I think. The measures should have been made harsher not relaxing. Controlling this is going to be a nightmare. why when the r number is below 1 " Because R is lower than one now but it will increase. They are just doing small scale tests. Germany R was below one when they relaxed measures now R is over 1. ![]()

"Health most important thing Should treble fines for people breaking lockdown You should be disappointed 30 k people died op! Op so selfish What a selfish country me me ne" No need for comments like that. Some people are struggling and feeling disappointed, myself included that doesn't make us selfish. Everyone has a right to feel disappointed regardless of your thoughts OP I hope you are okay. Sending love.

The idea isnt to stop the virus it's to make it easier for it to be managed. So far it looks like it could become seasonal like flu is.... so we will have to learn to live with it eventually. Vaccine isnt going to cure all .. IF we get one

Germany is already seeing R above 1 so its growing faster than its dieing out. Longer we try manage this the worse it will be in the long run. Hense why Scotland, Wales and NI have taken a very different route from England. We will soon see which nation had the right approach when we are back in lockdown 2.0.

"OP here I don’t think I’m selfish for being disappointed, obviously the situation I’m at the moment is hard for everyone and I was just hoping for a little more improvement. I’m still following lockdown rules as I have been for nearly 2 months " Nothing selfish about being disappointed in the situation we are all facing hun x

" I'm also concerned because we can't stay in lockdown forever so something at some point has to change before or many more people are are suffering in knock on ways from the virus " Well said, we can’t stay in lockdown forever and we will have to try and resume as much normality as possibly over the coming months for the sake of the economy. The death toll has been tragic but it’s an unfortunate part of life

"The death toll is of course absolutely terrible, the amount of suicides and also people becoming very ill or dying because they are too anxious to go to hospital for emergency treatment they need. I'm also concerned because we can't stay in lockdown forever so something at some point has to change before or many more people are are suffering in knock on ways from the virus, plus I think there is a chance that some people that will be distancing at home and so clean and hygienic that they will be unccustomed to the normal bacteria and when when they eventually do get exposed again may become ill with things that before their bodies would have easily shrugged off previously." ![]()

I just would have thought there was less cross-contamination as less people would have sat on the bench etc
