surrounded by twinkly lights

Thermal imaging technology and biometric bracelets are all being trialled for discovering if anyone has fever symptoms, heat screening stations set up to scan 20 people at once and the bracelets constantly check levels.

Adding this to a bloodspot prick test and a swab quick result test,

Is health check stations placed in towns and city's part of the way forward...

No because none of it currently works well enough

There are literally hundreds of drug treatment trials going on with a few so far showing some success. I suspect combined drug therapies that help suppress the severity of the disease coupled with social distancing and monitoring will bethe way forward until we get a virus.

It's very early days but over the next couple of months many of the trials results will be published, that should be the big change.

"No because none of it currently works well enough"

The fever screening cameras are 99.5% accurate and can also detect if the user is not wearing a face mask..

It doesn't matter how accurate it might pick up the temperature as having a fever is not necessarily an indicator of covid19 also not having a temperature doesnt mean you haven't got covid19 which is why the airports decided it wasn't viable.

It's a comfort blanket at best and a false sense if security at worst.

Trials and development are focused on lab based tests because they are the only ones to be trusted and easier to control

Things change daily

Strangely their not being viable isn’t stopping companies and the NHS having them installed at main entrance points. .

It’s better to have as many weapons available in your arsenal that to go in empty handed and under prepared.

The companies that sell them would like you to think everyone is buying them.

Yes Amazon does and so do others, but only to show the public they will take all measures possible, even wasteful ones that have a effectivness of less than 5% in a recent report due to the limited window for detection during the infectious phase of the disease

We aren't talking DIY level stuff from Amazon or Ebay, like the Ring camera etc but proper tech.

Companies are at least trying to detect high risk employees and stopping them from coming into contact with the others and then them suffering a potential breach of HSE / distancing policy.
