"So there are no checks on incoming passengers? " None whatsoever. But as we have highest per capita death rate in world...chances of tge airport staff infecting them is actually higher than other way around! Think about it....

"Over 18 million people have entered the uk since problems were known about and less than 500 were quarantined after flying in on 2 or 3 flights. The rest have mingled as they wished, many coming from areas that had worse problems at the time than the UK did. The question is whether we do nothing or some things that can help us. Other countries have done a fair few things differently from the UK. We can't tolerate that everything has to wait until this whole event has finished before we are to learn from it and to decide what we'd be better taking a different approach to them. I read that Heathrow is introducing temperature sensors in the coming week for immigration and extending this to all passenger types afterwards. This would be better at all airports and potentially stronger controls too. This could stop new hotspots of infection starting, triggered from new arrival passengers. We don't know how many people are infected in the UK due to the government still not having implemented widespread testing of the population. It's as stupid as relaxing isolation measures, whilst we don't know infection levels here, as it is to permit unlimited numbers of infected people in to the country imo. We'd hope that incoming travellers are all healthy but we have no clue what their infection rates have been, even from those catching it whilst travelling. Of those 18 million people, how many brought the virus in to add to our infection levels? I r" Too little, too late. They should have stopped all inbound flights months ago.
