most fundamental aspects

Or there’s always Can’t Understand Nudge Theory.

I’m not saying people are right for whatever breaches of lockdown they are doing. I would love for it all to be over and us go back to living without this terrible disease. For now, I’m abiding by the govt advice.

However..... do people realise that the rule breaking has all been factored into the calculations? I see lots attacking why we didn’t go into lockdown earlier, why planes were still allowed to fly in etc.

If there had been a full lockdown earlier people would not have accepted it. You might have done but a large minority would not.

The government advisers who arguably have more sway (but aren’t seen at the briefings) are those who study human behaviours - otherwise known as the Nudge Unit.

I’m just listening to the news about hairdressers opening, secretly obviously. They have doubled their charges, not asking for anyone to protect themselves, they don’t wear masks.

All for a haircut? I would question my priorities.

Blimey, it has been acknowledged that the NHS has not been overwhelmed and the nightingale hospital are empty

The government are talking about exiting lockdown as we are passed the peak

So what wrong with people wanting to get back to a semblance of normality

The government as trying to protect the country against the second wave of this pandemic. It's inevitable but just a case of damage control. China are already seeing a second wave.

So those who have had Covid19 and recovered, and who are carrying on as usual are also TWATS? The people who have been to work from day 1 of all this are carrying on usual because they've kept the country ticking are TWATS?

Only one 'Totally Willing to Abdicate Treatment' comes to mind

Nothings wrong mate it’s these idiots on here. They think the lockdown will kill off the virus, it will only flair once we ease off and schools reopen. But you can bet your bottom dollar the morons who are screaming protect the nhs, no meets on here etc, will be out meeting again.

It’s not going anywhere until a vaccine is found or we have a decent level of immunity. Get on with your lives for godsake.

Considering it’s been about since December and maybe before, then there’s many that’s had it and are unaware. Each to there own but I call this lockdown bullshit.

because largely they are. Spend a few hours today digging into this virus. Look at who’s dying from it. Look at hospital capacity.

My mother’s cousin died 2 weeks ago from covid 19 according to the death certificate, She was in the hospice with a brain tumour, palliative care. It wasn’t covid that killed her. The death toll could be reduced by a third.

I called this point back before lockdown. Back when we were told to stop using pubs, theatres etc. The govt factored in a percentage still using them. Too high a percentage and closure becomes necessary (and did). Likewise with our lockdown and stricter measures available.

Each country is reporting figures differently. It will be clearer at some point. It is the difference between ‘with’ and ‘of’. Some countries are doing their level best to find any other than covid to be the cause of death, we are reporting anyone with covid.

I don’t need to be spending any more time looking at the figures, I have been watching this since January when people were saying it was nothing.

As for it being a huge panic ... well it is a deadly virus that we don’t have a cure for. Young healthy people as well as other are dying so I do think we should take it seriously.

My point was calling people idiots is unnecessary.

Domestic violence up, drug use up, alcohol consumption up. A young generation ruined in aid of the generation that’s had it best.

Some people don’t agree with the suggested reopening.... that’s okay. Be kind.

Some people are still planning to stay at home.... that’s okay. Be kind.

Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may possibly save their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind.

Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind.

The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind.

We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind.

If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!

Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story.

We all are in different Financial - and - Mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind!

Considering it’s been about since December and maybe before, then there’s many that’s had it and are unaware. Each to there own but I call this lockdown bullshit.

Why do you have to call people idiots? What does that achieve? A difference of opinion doesn’t make people idiots. because largely they are.

This is a huge panic job

Each country is reporting figures differently. It will be clearer at some point. It is the difference between ‘with’ and ‘of’. Some countries are doing their level best to find any other than covid to be the cause of death, we are reporting anyone with covid.

I don’t need to be spending any more time looking at the figures, I have been watching this since January when people were saying it was nothing.

As for it being a huge panic ... well it is a deadly virus that we don’t have a cure for. Young healthy people as well as other are dying so I do think we should take it seriously.

My point was calling people idiots is unnecessary.

But if someone cant and needs to work to keep a roof over their heads then dont call them a TWAT like the OP did.

Ther is one little nugget there in your paragraph.

I'm quite happy to die not so happy about others dieing "

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. The trouble is we cannot live in isolation and just say, fuck it I'm gonna do my own thing. That really is being a selfish TWAT. So you see people that would like to live again but don't break the lockdown are not TWATS as you try to allude to.

So I wonder if there are 2 types of TWAT. The one that think fuckit, I'm doing my thing and to hell with the rest type of TWAT. Or perhaps there is the other type of TWAT that goes round calling people TWATS for having the temerity to suggest that we'd like a bit of life back sooner rather than later.

2 new cases 2 cases too many. China isn't being honest with the figures. Those 2 infected individuals will more than likely have been around many others. We all need to bear in mind the Spanish flu, the second wave was catastrophic! History has a funny way of repeating itself.

I can name 5 people who claim if this goes on they will end themselves

They are all over 70

The lock down IS also potentially killing people

Also

Potentially,potentially

There will be an antibody test

Potentially, potentially

The people who become infected will not die will however be tested and given an all clear to travel

Potentially, potentially

I'm pro lockdown for the moment

However I do feel we could actually be close to the runaway train analogy

You know train two tracks

100 people no children will die without pulling lever

69 and a child die with lever pulled

The true "additional "deaths caused by either sinareo are impossibly difficult to fathom

I'd have to agree being extremely ranty judgemental and single minded misses a much larger picture and in itself disregarding the wellbeing of others

"If you could see the virus, would you go out?

If I could see every virus and bacterium that was able to cause me harm in this world I'd never leave the house again, being labelled a germaphobe wouldn't even come close to my mental heath state of anxiety

"Never in history has so much been lost, by so many for so few during this pandemic. Our lives will not recover economically from this and nor will our childrens. Any hopes of a better future for the next generation have been dashed by foolishness. "

It will recover in a year or two , dont be so dramatic!

It is not about fear of catching it and for those who think its not a problem you will of course be happy if the nhs is over whelmed and there is no A & E The only reason it has not been overwheled Yet is that in the uk the old are dying in nursing homes I know some one who broke their arm it was fixed in hospital BUT they did not send an ambulance My friend with cancer is not so lucky I have to wonder if there would be a different attitude if this picked out children and not the old Ps my friend that died was under 60

"Or there’s always Can’t Understand Nudge Theory.

Th e behaviour that the NUdge Unit ought to be studying is their own continuing belief in the most overhyped theory of the last twenty years.
