I heard indirectly the clain from the government that they will not extend furlough payments. Have others seen that?

They need to ramp it down from 80% to push firms to find ways to get back to work.

There will be a lot of people quite happy to sit at home on 80% of pay, The 20% loss in wages hasn’t made much of a difference on how live and I imagine a lot of other people as well

I wouldn't say happy to be sitting at home on 80% pay.

But it has brought a piece of mind for now.

Mr is on furlough .

Mrs works in a care home riddled with covid19.

We have both had it by the way.

I've seen this morning they will reduce it to 50% and then 30% because obviously keeping it at 80% is not sustainable.

Sorry, it was the lib dems who have suggested that...

According to the Liberal Democrats there should be a “tapered” end to the programme, with the Treasury paying 50% of salaries for the first month after people return to work, falling to 30% after the third month, with employers picking up the full bill after the fourth.

Rishi Sunack is still working on a way to 'wind it down'.

They've got to though, it's costing roughly the same as the nhs, apparently.
