Main savings have been on petrol and work lunches/coffees.

Still paying my gym membership because it's a small independent business, so wasnt going to stop whilst I could afford it. Not going swimming at the minute, so saved there too.

For many who are furlough Ed or work from home, I guess that's a good saving. I'm the opposite cos I couldn't drive for 11 months. Now I'm able to, I'm not allowed

Mortgage rate has gone down. Golf membership fees suspended. Sky sports if I could be bothered applying for it. I thought it was automatic. Saving £300-£400 per month in the pub too. Spending less on fuel too tho I am still working but getting free parking now

I'm in an 18 month contract after getting a £38 discount. I read something about charges may be involved, can't remember the exact wording so I got spooked. Because of the discounts I have I wouldn't save that much by cancelling anyway so it's no big deal really.

I drive around 150 - 200 miles per day still, and could claim 45p per mile as it is delivering prescriptions, meals etc (Voluntary) but the cost is not a concern so I dont claim

Very little difference for me but I am a tight wad, dont see the point in paying for a Costa etc unless we are away for the wknd etc. Frivolous spending is a waste imvho, sooner save up and spend it on something that gives us memories, got family who made comments about us going to france for eight weeks this winter but when I pointed out that they each spend on fags in a year the same amount that the apartment cost us for the time they went quiet.

Yeah, plus working full time, at the beginning when everyone was stockpiling, I had to buy whatever was left at the end of the day which was the more expensive items otherwise my son and I would have had nothing to eat.

My biggest and only vice apart from Fabs is gambling.Everyday there would be a football accumulator to do or 4 horses in a combination bet ( Lucky 15 ) sometimes both this could cost me between £10 - £20 a day.Throw in darts , snooker , the grand slams of tennis , as and when they are on and this could be another £10 - £20 a day.So I would say I spend £100 - £150 a week on my sports gambling some you win but you mostly lose.Since lockdown nothing to bet on and mentally I feel ok as I was worried I may do something stupid like open a online account.I don’t feel like I am missing out on too much apart from the young lady who works for Ladbrokes who I suspect has a naughty side to her but that is another story.

My food bill has increased as I have more mouths to feed and more meals to make for them as we are all home.

We’ve implemented that at my work too though some seem to have been rotated off more than others and there is a bit of resentment creeping in now.

Supposed to be flying out to Morocco this morning, £450 flights have been refunded and saved the cost of a week away.

No gigs to go to, no races to run, no restaurants to eat in, no gym membership to pay.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what the hell they were doing with their pennies before.... All I know is I've not put fuel in my car since lock down, the extra pennies made me think some of my debit orders didn't go off, but they did, and I didnt have to plan saving pennies to decorate/diy my bathroom to keep me busy.... Obviously been spending money on unnecessary rubbish before and need to reign myself in and pay more attention after lock down ends

Already am. Buying direct online for food on occasion from independent outlets, donated to fundraisers for pubs, clubs and artists all helping to keep these people afloat theres a lot that can be done to help people that are affected now.

Read an article yesterday where the durex CEO was saying their sales were right down as folk aren't getting the same opportunity to require them which was kind of obvious but he also claimed that long term couples are also having less sex during lockdown. Dunno how he can deduce that from condom sales as surely most long term couples use contraceptives other than condoms?

Saving a large wedge not going out. Not going to social events and not going to engage in normal vanilla hobbies and passtimes.

No lunches out also seems to be saving a fair bit.

Using way less petrol and haven't been on a bus in five weeks.

So expenses are way down.

It wasn’t virus / current situation related but it’s bad anyway. On a positive note we were spending less due to the restrictions and have learnt to live on what we have. X"

Tram pass ( use mountain bike )

Shopping , used to pop into Tesco’s every day and buy random stuff now I don’t

Clothes shops , most Sunday’s I would go out and buy something new , since lockdown , brought nothing not even online

You have a point, but if we did end up in lockdown for 6 months , you could just about afford to treat yourself and get waxed afterwards , it’s about £20. You’d be supporting a local business and it would be smooth as

We are both still at work as normal so the only costs that have changed for us is not being able to go out to dinner etc. This has done my bank balance a world of good and will no doubt continue until the restaurants etc open again. I do keep telling myself that I'll control my spending more once we go back to normal but I doubt I will in reality lol. Either that or I'll get a itchy finger and blow it on somthing.
