The lockdown hasn't effected my mental health in the slightest. Other factors are a different matter though.

I suffered quite badly for a while. But trust me you will come out the other end . Still have an occasional wobble but I’m determined that it’s not going to rule my life. Everyone stay strong. Don’t let this virus beat you ??????

Hasn’t bothered me much at all. Its gotten easier once settled into the new routine, the first week has a bit strange as it was all new.

Personally I don’t think it’s even that bad, it’s not exactly a hard lockdown. Exercising outside is permitted, shopping isn’t exactly madness anymore now people have pulled their heads out their arse stripping the shelves bare and fighting for a bag of pasta.

The restriction on family is the hardest part for me, but we still have FaceTime to actually see each other.

It’s the small business owners who I feel for.

Yah that's true. It's hard to see the small places staying open after all this.

Riding the waves. I'm used to my own company but it seems harder at times because of the lack of choice. I miss contact and touch. Some days are harder than others.

Today I let massive ploppy tears roll. Felt better for the release.

There's still lots to be grateful for.

Soon, those of us without adult contact are going to need to be hugged. My parents need to hold their grandchildren. Roll on that day x

I had to have my dog put to sleep last Monday. Up to that point I was coping ok with Furlough / Lockdown, but losing my dog has really and truly screwed me over big style and it's getting worse, not better.

I had a serioys episode of depression/stress 10 years ago.

Precribed meds...and, luckily it seems, good therapy. Binned my meds off dead after a few months as most are more harm than good

Since then learned how to manage things myself so hasn't affected me mentally really. I do mis clise contact with friends...one in particular....but I do feel for others who are coping less well...

closer than you think

I lost it completely yesterday

I’ve been working from home for 4 weeks and been coping ok with a very stressful job (I work in accounts). I’ve been dealing with a newly promoted Manager and the last straw was a wrongly worded email (not the 1st) that just broke me!

I’ve had to take a week off with work related stress which is making me feel more shite for leaving my colleagues to pick up my work but I just can’t turn on my laptop for fear of seeing another email from them.

I’ve never felt like this and hoping it’s a short term and I bounce back to deal with a job I love

Much better due to not having to be anywhere or see anyone.

I know I am lucky and probably in a minority.

Suppose it depends on what mental issues you are suffering from.

Personaly i suffer from OCD in the form of anxiety of germs/hiv/drug users im struggling.

My therapy concentrates on facing these fears and realising how the thoughts arn't rational. But now its just conferming that they are.

Was ok to start with even though I was furloughed, but after a short time (which surprised me) I started feeling down, and a bit weepy. Am lucky in that I got the callback re work, so now I have less time to dwell on things and I find myself being more optimistic

Have struggled a lot tbh .. this whole situation has brought back some real problems that I thought were counselling sessions/ meds done! This week realising that anyone who is single/lives alone is basically not going to get any closeness, human contact for at least another year and a half has pushed me right over the edge and have worried about it constantly .. a sad state of affairs when wanking is about all you are going to be able to do for the foreseeable isn't it !

I don't have the stresses of getting up mega early. I don't have the stress of the commute. I don't have the stress of maintaining work mode all day. I don't have the stress of dealing with naughty kids. I don't have the stress of exams this year.

So comparatively, it's not too bad isolating.

Being stuck in the house for 8 weeks now is taking its toll (I'm shielding). If I didn't have work to keep me occupied and give the day some shape I think I'd have cracked. My coping strategies when I feel down have been taken away.

One thing I found useful was to stay off stuff like twitter and facebook as well as keeping away from the news and things discussing it. I usually try to stay informed but it really took its toll on me. More than I wanted it to.

Once I just found a way to escape from it I felt a lot calmer and more in control

It's been hard. My anxiety is bad - I have health problems and so am terrified of getting sick and dying. I have become almost agoraphobic... leaving the house to go shopping triggers panic attacks every time. I also suffer from PTSD and stress-related psychosis which is starting to get hard to control. Some days I have been suicidal.

The biggest problem for me is that I was going out socialising at least a few times a week, meeting people, going to groups and classes, and that played a huge part in keeping my mental health stable. Now I don't have that, and video/phone calls just don't help, I need to be around people face to face.

Doing OK most days but to be totally honest some of the threads on here really depress me as some people seem so unreasonable. I am a pragmatist I think so what I'm doing is trying not to read the ones that are so down and grumpy, I try not to take the troll's bait and have largely stopped replying as it's more futile than trying to stop the spread of the virus.

I'm doing my own thing and sticking to the rules, it's all one can do really.

Speaking to relatives who lived through the war and have said there are some elements of this virus which is far more scary than what they went through then..

Uncertainty, isolation etc..
