Any advise ? I have had the symptoms with breathing and now on the mend. I’m divorced and only saw my son via FaceTime. When is it safe for him to come back to stay for a few days. I’m confused when is safe. Any help ?

Government website has information that may be useful.

Read it a thousand times.

It keeps changing .

Still no clear instructions for people who have had it and recovered.

Do we keep with the lockdown and if so how long.

Have you isolated 14 days from when symptoms started?

The advice is to isolate for 7 days since you started to have symptoms. If you still have a fever after 7 days you should stay in isolation. Having a cough after 7 days is not an issue.

To be fair, there cases of people who are still infective after 7 days, but in UK the official advice is to wait just 7 days.

If you can't get tested and you want to be safer you can wait few days more... like 10 days since the first symptoms.

Of course you do. But you can come out of isolation if you've completed your 14 days from when symptoms first appeared.

Anyway, if you son is in the 10-18 range, exposure to the virus is very unlikely to be dangerous.

And remember that even if you developed antibodies the virus still live outside your body, on your clothes and everywhere on your house... so you also need to clean everything with soap and water.

Current tests only show if you HAVE the virus. Not how infectious you may be...or even if you ever had it in first place.

Also not available unless you are a key worker and showing symptoms now and has to be pre-booked.

As to when you see your sin again I'd ask yourself a simple question.

"How much do you value his health?"

I really do not think its known when you are safe. I reckon even after 7/14 days the 2m distancing still applies for anyone out of your household?

Have you seen evidence that the virus survives on anything longer than 72 hours? If not, then the OP can add that to the 7 days

Self isolation from when symptoms start till better but anyone living in house has to self isolate another 2 weeks as symptoms dont present straight away. Make syre you have local friends and family around to get things if you self isolate. Dont risk your kids or grandkids there is a new strain of coronavirus hitting kids. Anyone who has it on here.

GET WELL SOON

Together we will get through this .k

Central

The NHS government advice is what is to be followed. It appears likely to be most infectious in its early days.

A lot of us believe we had it in January or even over Christmas. I think a lot of people have no idea what to do.i sometimes have a bad cough through hayfever so even if I didn't have it I feel I couldn't work with it. It's a pain

Hi there hunni,

Ok, so we have had it in our house.

You stop being contagious at the point your temp regulates itself (be aware paracetamol will artificially hold that down).

So you need to dry out of them for 24 hours to see your temp which needs to be below 27'

Then you need to clear your house of it, it can live on hard surfaces like steel for 4 to 5 days.

So clear it off you, leave it a week and your habitat should also be clear x

We have had it in our house (partner had it). And I didn't contract it using these methods.

She had the top floor and I had the bottom.

Sounds fantastic but

Let's say he did not have it

His son has been with his mother who has been to lidl where the son touched something contagious

By seeing your infected son you will be endangering the lives of NHS staff

Stay home stay away from any one, who has not been totally quarantined for at least 3 weeks

Crazy isn't it
