"I've not watched big brother in years, but I can fully appreciate being locked in a house with people I don't know. I can see why watching people slowly going mad is a form of 'entertainment'. But you have to think, nice house, but no privacy, no internet, are they allowed books?, no phones or communication to the world. Can you imagine if you started big brother when lock down started, and you didn't know?" Big brother is still being produced in other countries. I saw a couple of videos from germany and canada were the production staff told the contestants about the virus and the lockdowns in their countries. The canada version told them that due to the social distancing they were stopping the show and sending the people home.

"They can't have books, magazines or newspapers on Big Brother" I don't think not having books is much of a hardship for the average big brother housemate.
