Is anyone else finding themselves on the verge of a breakdown?

I was doing ok...but I'm not sure how much longer I can cope.

Unable to get shopping in, running out of essentials, 2000 miles away from my fella, almost as far away from my parents, health issues put on hold.

Fuck you Covid!!!!

If anyone else is struggling, feel free to add to my rant!

L

Do you have any friends you can chat to? Are there any local volunteer groups that could help with shopping?

We are finding that local corner shops have more stock than supermarkets. Also less busy so less risky to visit.

Hope you feel better. Virtual hugs Xx

I'm not very good at reaching out for help...but I have one or two I could maybe try to talk to about it all...

Being stuck out in a little village with no transport and having to self isolate for 12 weeks is a bit tricky...hopefully I'll manage to find a delivery slot come pay day

There's a lot of online help. You can call and speak to someone. They have text services too which can be easier.

Local businesses here are also doing delivery. If the supermarkets don't have any delivery slots maybe try local shops.

Hang in there. I know it's hard, but we can get through this.

When times are tough, I focus on getting through a day at a time. Or even the next hour, if things are really bad.

If you are unable to get shopping in phone up social work for help. There are people volunteering to help folk just like you.

Check your local pages on facebook for food banks to help you through with food.

Are you in receipt of the government care package? I know it's not much, but it's helped me get through the 'gap' between supermarket deliveries. Anyone on the govt's list should get it automatically, but check you're registered on gov.uk.

I don't need to go to a food bank...i have money for shopping, just can't get a delivery slot! The nearest supermarket is a 45 min walk (that includes a death hill I'd never make it back up with shopping) and I'm stuck at home on 12 weeks isolation due to being very high risk.

I’m high risk and supermarkets I’ve used previously for online shops have emailed me saying they’ve been advised that Im of the vulnerable group and give a time/day when the priority slots are available.

Have you registered on the government website that's sharedv with stores, it's a list of at risk and shielding people. My son is high risk, and I put his details in, NHS number etc, about 3 weeks ago when it was announced. I got an email from Iceland this week telling me they got my information off this list, I got link for a priority booking slot. I had to log in at a specific time and check out within an hour. My delivery came today. I don't normally shop at Iceland, but I can't leave the house, so something was better than nothing....I'll try find a link to the website for you'd like

Yeah...I'm aware there are people in far worse circumstances. I've been in a position where I can't afford to feed myself, I don't need a reality check.
