MUST have been in December. Imported from source (China) as didn't start here. Wonder how many came here from China during November/December when CCP were keeping things quiet. It defies logic that none of them where infected/carriers.

Thoughts?

stoke

I came back from Vietnam in November, had a fever whilst there and had an horrendous cough for an age afterwards .. makes me think, if I’ve had it ... but I’ll never know, unless I ever need to be tested ...

..

We do also need to bear in mind that normal seasonal flu, coughs and colds were around as well.

As you say, without a test there is no way of knowing.

China found it in November but who knows how many cases there were before they identified the virus.

Hubby has many relatives in North Italy - there they had a spike in pneumonia mid October 2019 and around Bergamo and Milano they have about 300'000 Chinese citizens.

Italian doctors have gone back and tested samples from patients from last year and seems they had Corona already last year...

Agree with some of his relatives from France and Italy that Europe should "sue" Chinaunder existing laws for damages they have done to us all for not saying (again see SARS) that they had a big medical issue.

Hubby showed me an article in a Swiss paper stating that we shold stop buying Chinese products and go back to European producers....ekkk backlash

could well be true it was in europe last year.they have said iys mutated a cpl of times since entering humans whos to say the first strain wasnt as contagious. perhaps its become more contagious since its mutated i mean humans were a new host for this virus so its probably changed to make itself more effective

Glasgow/London

I saw a stat recently that showed an increase of ITU admissions over winter in USA as presumed winter flu (as you may expect), but a significant number of these tested negative for flu virus.... Makes you wonder!

the wetlands

If it started last year why did the the exponential growth start in March. Coincidence ? Worldwide coincidence ?

Yes it has mutated, but mutations aren’t necessarily a bad thing. Every virus mutates; it’s part of the virus life cycle. Those shifts and changes aren’t always a big deal.

In some cases, those mutations may actually lead to a weaker virus. Usually, though, the changes are so slight that there’s no noticeable difference in the disease’s transmission and fatality rates.

We will have to wait for the movie to come out I guess.

all loved up

I'm still certain I had it last year. I came back from a holiday in Italy.. had a mild cold about a week after I came back.. then thought I'd shifted it... but a short while later came down with what the doctors told me was bad flu or a viral infection.. it knocked me off my feet for weeks.. I was bed bound for over 10days. The cough was ridiculous and lingered for a long time after I was better in myself..

It was I think at that point to strong and knocking people off their feet too early. So perhaps it wasnt that contagious as people who got it were falling ill to quickly for it to travel well. Or it was just misdiagnosed.. I know I looked at flu deaths in Jan and America had some record weekly deaths from "flu" x
