Trump is basically doing everything and anything to deflect away from his lack of action.

Other countries, including the UK, have increased funding to the WHO. That is the sensible thing to do in the middle of a global pandemic.

If that was the case why has the world health organisation refused scientific evidence that suggested they new Covid-19 spread from human to human transmission as far back as December 2019.

Why did the WHO advice against travel ristrictions from China to other countries

And why did the who and the cdc advice against people wearing face masks as ppe when traveling in public spaces?

The World health organisation lead us all astray because the majority of financial support they get comes via China.

Hard to prepare when your being advised against taking action

Trouble is WHO warned the world back in October when Event 201 was held, you can see it on u tube now. Chinese scientists warned about a pandemic in March 2019. Everyone went to sleep on it. Or did they? Are we being led to believe our goverments are ill prepared or incompetent and making genuine errors of judgement.

Are the preparations already there but kept for the special selected?

The perfect storm to rid the world of the less needed, the dependants.

Are we talking euthanasia on a worldwide scale?

Just a thought. I could be wrong.

Worldwide euthanasia?

(recorded) worldwide deaths from the virus stand at 125k let's exaggerate that number by 40% to include unreported deaths.

Thats a big margin too. That is 175k people

The global population is 7.8 billion people.

Millions of people would to die just nudge this to 1% of the worlds population.

To put this all into perspective over 225,000 died in under 10 minutes during the 2004 Indian ocean tsunami.

Whatever people think of President Trump, he is a businessman.

If a businessman pays for a service but does not receive that service, then that businessman will stop paying for it = it really isn't that difficult.

The World Health Organisation have taken no action whatsoever in China to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

Not sure it's within their remit to take action against member states, any such issues need addressing of course and maybe will take place in a diplomatic fashion..

Like any part of the UN each country they deal with will require different ways of doing so..

You are, this is just politics. The US contributes 2.5% of the WHO global budget. This is works out at $58 million. It was due Jan 31. For 2019 it was $59 million, the US has only paid $18 million of that.

By way of comparison the US airline industry got a $25 BILLION bailout. Trumps golf has cost the US taxpayer $133 million

China's contribution to WHO is $60 million

This is all politics, deflection from his criticism at that damn awful press conference and an attempt to restrict Chinese growing influence globally reducing the US. There is also talk in the administration that funding will be linked to the number of Americans working at an organisation.

My Google found this.

"In its most recent budget proposal in February, the Trump administration requested a reduction in U.S. financial contributions to the WHO from $122.6m to an assessed contribution of $57.9m. Despite the slashed budget, that figure still makes the U.S. the WHO’s top financial contributor by far. China pays in the second highest sum, $28.6m, followed by Japan’s $20.5m. The total sum of assessed contributions invoiced by the WHO on January 01 and due for payment this year stood at $246.8 million, of which $79 million had been paid by members as of March 31."

It’s very depressing to read this thread and to see how misinformation has spread as fast as covid itself.

WHO advice as with medicine itself has to be based on the best available evidence at any time. They don’t take a position and stick with it. China withheld information from them in January hence their statement that human to human spread was unlikely early on. Advice changes

They do not take sides to with whoever gives them more money regardless of what you might see on infowars or 4chan.

To defund then now when they are the ones in the best position to coordinate a global response is utter irresponsible madness

To defund then now when they are the ones in the best position to coordinate a global response is utter irresponsible madness

Totally agree "

WHO scientist got first got to Wuhan on Jan 20. They issued a statement on Jan 23 https://www.who.int/news-room/detail/23-01-2020-statement-on-the-meeting-of-the-international-health-regulations-(2005)-emergency-committee-regarding-the-outbreak-of-novel-coronavirus-(2019-ncov)

Their advise to other countries:

"It is expected that further international exportation of cases may appear in any country. Thus, all countries should be prepared for containment, including active surveillance, early detection, isolation and case management, contact tracing and prevention of onward spread of 2019-nCoV infection, and to share full data with WHO."

If Trump said that bears shit in woods then half you snowflakes would attack him for it. I can't believe people are still defending the WHO. They don't have any entitlement to our tax payer money, we give a lot more than China by the way. In 2017 we threatened to cut our funding because of their shitty handling of ebola and their performance this time is indefensible. In what possible way is this virus anything but an unmitigated disaster? How would it possibly be worse if they didn't exist!?

You do not need to pay a director general a $240,000 salary to sit there and have sloped shoulders saying he didn't get the info. At $240,000 a year, his job is to get the fucking info. Heaven forbid people should actually be held accountable for their job performance. Get over your anti-trump hysteria, he'll be accountable to the American people at an election soon. It's time some heads rolled in this government too, where are our fucking test kits and PPE? Some dumb cunt had to job to analyse the supply chain of these things and stockpile if necessary, which is what South Korea did and why they have less deaths total, than we had yesterday.

Then we had boris shaking everyone's hand on a COVID-19 ward.

WHO didn't get to Wuhan until Jan 20, their statement on the visit warned of a 4 percent death rate, human-to-human transmission and potential exporting of the virus to “any country.”

Their Feb 24 report recommended national governments “immediately activate the highest level of national response,” including immediate and extensive testing and planning for closing schools and workplaces.

My answer was serious as well. Attacking WHO serves 2 purposes, it weakens global institutions and takes the focus of the failure of national governments to act.

WHO did their job, the monitored the situation and when they had verifiable information they released it, it's not their fault that national governments failed to act.

On Jan 10 WHO released a review checklist with the aim of better understand existing capacities in the area of detection

and response to a novel coronavirus (nCoV) that is zoonotic and causes respiratory disease. The tool was developed

with other coronaviruses, such as SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, in mind and in consultation with member states.

This information will help national authorities to i) identify main gaps ii) perform risk assessments and iii) plan for

additional investigations, response and control actions.

4 months later, UK health workers are using bin bags and they are still working on mass testing methods.

Could it be that THE WHO didn't a great job.

AND

Could it also be that trump is spinning this as a deflection for how poorly he has handled the virus.

Why is everything in the world becoming bipartisan... A (vs) war.

You can't even by a product without someone trying to ram a comparison to another product down your throat.

It's OK to like and think different things

Here is a rational thought. Maybe both of them fucked up.

Any opinion and decision whilst you are both entitled them... Is not going to change global macro policies and economics.

I listen to those who oppose my ideas not to start a war but to challenge my own opinions and perceptions changing them when I see new evidence or a compelling argument.

Retaining and adapting old beliefs and opinions whilst accepting new information.

Arguing on the internet isn't a good look for anyone
