Went to Sainsbury’s today. I was about half way down the queue and an old lady turned up. Late 80’s at my best guess. Poss older. She looked absolutely petrified and the walk to the end of the line was quite a walk for a frail old lady.... I let her go before me.

Then 5 folk back this man absolutely went wild. Tbh if some It really quite shocked me.

Tell me something NICE you’ve seen in this whole sorry business to cheer me up xx

Why on earth did he go nuts? I would consider it a privilege to let her go in front of me!

I've seen lots of examples of neighbours picking up bits of shopping and meds for others.

I've also been baking bread and dropping it off at neighbours' doors, with an occasional bottle of wine too...

I’m a key worker (teacher) but have a small home baking business on the side, with no orders I’ve been baking loads to use up ingredients abs have been delivering them to the police station and fire station, the local cottage hospital and my neighbours. It’s been helping me keep my mental health in check

it’s always nice to received so warmly, plus the bonus of seeing lots of police and firemen is not too shabby

In a rather long queue at a supermarket where some poor young shopworker lad was at door policing the one out, one in policy and some very large fella, an absolute knob head, starts having an aggressive rant at the kid for no reason other than him just doing his job... when everyone who witnessed it totally forgot the social distancing rules and surrounded the yobbo, squaring up and giving him all kinds of quite deserved abuse...from old ladies to usually timid types...... he left very quickly looking very embarrassed....

my baking business is logged with the local EH at the council with a 5 rating and have had clarification from them that it’s all ok to continue.

Thanks for the link to the article though.

Coventry

Fire brigade turned up in our cul de sac a few days ago, to fit a smoke alarm in an elderly neighbours house.

Two fire ladies walked up the street to do the deed, a family walked into the road having been shopping, walked up to the fire engine and handed a full bag of Easter eggs to the lads and lasses inside.

Just walked up and gave them to them, that's what our country is made of.

"Let's all carry on and remember that things will get better," Mr Moore said.

"We have had problems before - we have overcome them - and we shall all overcome the same thing again."
