"If you follow the advice about social distancing it's unlikely that you will get it. And even if you get it you are more likely to survive than not. I don't know what kind of pre-existing conditions to you have, but even in the worst case scenario (with people 90+ years old) the 75-80% recovers. Anyway, again, if you follow the advice you will not get it." Although I don't want to add the OP's fear, I think this is I'll advised. The social distancing rules are not to prevent the spread of the virus but rather to slow it down. Delay the spread so the NHS can deal with people becoming ill gradually and not all at once. People are likely to get it its just how mildly and how many all together. The vast majority of people will survive it.

"I got the txt and 3 letters if I get this I think it’s game over " Think of it this way. Part of the mitigation strategy for this pandemic is to reduce demand on the NHS. Some of the people getting letters are getting them not because there's any more certainty of their dying - the stats are a little odd on that right now, and very incomplete, but because of the challenges they will present at hospital if they're admitted. Pre-existing conditions may be an additional risk factor, but they may also just be an additional demand factor the NHS doesn't need. An excess of demand on the NHS is the greatest single risk factor for morbidity - if the hospitals are overstretched, many more people will die than otherwise would. Good quality care saves lives with this condition, and the availability of good quality care epends upon demand on the NHS. So irrespective of the correlation between individual pre-existing conditions and morbidity from Covid-19, you're going to try and keep people with those conditions out of the cohort who require hospitalization because they'll reduce capacity more than the average patient. That will save lives. TL:DR Some of those letters might be about the risk you pose to the system, not the risk to you, and by taking extra care, making more capcity available in hospital, you are saving lives. Thank you for making the effort.

" I don't want this thread to become another thread on how stupid is the herd immunity approach. But no one, including the govern (at this point at least), wants to get everyone infected. The only reason why we will never get to 0 cases is that some people can't isolate (key workers) and some other won't isolate (idiots), if you aren't in one of these group you are reasonably safe. Luckily at the current rate of infection it will take many years to reach the 80% of the population.
