From listening to usa tv and irish tv today. It seems the general consensus is that social distancing and large events restrictions will be in place until a vaccine is found which they say is between 12 to 18 months. It's going to be long restrictions

They have one that is being tested on humans now. Even if successful it will be a long time before it's widely available

You may want to check that news for AIDs as I'm certain it was recently on the news that they are now curing

No SARS virus since 2001, so will be very suspicious of a quick find for Covid 19

It's going to be a long, long haul. Life is never going to be 'normal' ever again. Ramifications of this are going to be around for a long, long time. Talk of 'we're going to party when it's over' only a few days into lockdown were extremely optimistic and unrealistic.

Hey! How about a 'what are you going to do when it's over' thread for a change? How about Be thankful you're alive?

Of course life will be normal again. I'm still planning to party the day the clubs open.

Should we not inoculate the bottom 80% 0f the population (pareto) asap and accept that if there are some nasty side affects we have saved the world and our economy.

And at the same time get a grip on our Darwinism conundrum

Clubs not withstanding much of 'normal' was pretty s***. Personally I'm finding a day when we just say: 'that's it the horrible germs have gone away' hard to imagine. An huge increase in doggy style and special face masks to accommodate oral may be two adaptations from how things use to be?
