Whilst humanity is currently suffering hugely under the terrible and devastating effects of COVID-19, it is almost as though the planet is healing itself.

Levels of air pollution and especially Greenhouse gasses have dropped significantly worldwide, Blue skies over China for first time in years towns in Northern India are able to see the Himalayas for first time in 30 years. Water pollution seems to have also reduced as Dolphins now back in outer canals of Venice for decades.

Perhaps our planet is undergoing a natural healing crisis. However the one thing that this pandemic has re-enforced is that vast majority of damage done to the planet has been at human hands.

I would love to think we will learn lessons from this but sadly i fear give it a short time and the drive for greed and profit will take over again and things will go back to square one.

Sadly I fear nothing much will change. I also think however that we are not even beginning to see the longer term ramifications of how these new germs will effect life for us.

And whist the loss of life is very sad I think that when historians look at life BC and AC in a hundred years time they will say it caused more good than bad.

Fundamental change has to start at the top and work its way down rather than starting at the bottom and penalising the foot soldiers first and working your way up.

So an example would be that World Leaders video conference instead of having summits flying all over the World.

Another would be stop businessmen flying in and out of London City Airport everyday as part of their commute.

One day human beings will become nothing more than a foot note in history and the planet and nature with it will finally have a chance to heal properly.
