When the number of people catching this virus drops significantly to the point it's considered low risk to the general public, which will happen a lot quicker if people would behave themselves and stay in or at least keep away from others.

Well China is reopening everything now, but as a totalitarian communist state they had the method of making people stay in by shooting them if they didn't. It will go on longer here as people just won't listen and keep going out having social gatherings potentially spreading it.

I think places like pubs, clubs, cinemas, theatres and sports grounds will remained closed for quite a few months.

Basically large groups will still not be wanted.

No. I've been unemployed and not claiming anything because I was going to go self employed soon. But this is knocked me back now and it's tough because I have bills and a mortgage to pay.

I don't know and for what they give its not really worth the hassle if we get out of this soon enough.

"Is anyone here getting paid whilst all this is going on? "

We’ve recently moved and I was slowly building up my own Handy Man business locally only been at it for few months. That’s had to be put on hold so no not getting paid at all just seriously hoping these ridiculously long lockdown figures aren’t correct or I will starve before I get the virus.

Too long a lockdown and most independent pubs will go bust and even when we are allowed out lots of people will be strapped for cash so won’t be able to the pub

My personal opinion is that the sooner you claim the sooner you'll get whatever you're entitled to and surely something is better than nothing.

When it's possible to get an entire Saturday night's drinking for little more than £10, there's no way people will boycott him.

That's not correct but hey ho

It will happen when

A, 25 to 40 million people have had it

B , a vaccination is given

What do you think will happen

There we are on lock down no breaking rules few getting it numbers of infected reduce

Yey out of lock down

Population still has no immunity exponential increase until another lock down

And onward in out in out in

out until enough people are immune

We want people to stay in to protect lives and the NHS

But please do not be mistaken this means it will be over soon

The quickest way but most idiotic is not to adhere to lock down rules like a wild fire we would all get it

However

Yes, but he's a prick and a certified loon so he may not be a good guide as to what is likely to happen.

This is good advice.

I get that the prime motive for some people going self employed si that they don't like bureaucracy, big organizations and so on, but these are exceptional times. You don't want to be in the position of being denied some future benefit or handout (we may yet see helicopter money in the UK) because you weren't on the DWP's books in time.

And the rest! What planet are people living on when a really simple fact which every virologist / scientist is trying to tell us is that until a vaccine (huge if) is found and administered generally, social distancing will be a way of life or do you think this virus is just going to go away?!

Yes. There are far, far more people surviving covid 19 than are dying from it. Hence, immunity comes.

As for the vaccine. Of course it will come. Science is moving at a hell of a pace on this.

Like everything, this will pass, the world will keep turning and for the vast majority or people, will just be a memory in a relatively short period of time.
