"To early to tell, but if they had their peak and herd immunity levels have been reached then for that area should be getting better. If not, then another lockdown will follow." With these measures China have taken, it'll definitely give the rest of the world a idea of how to handle it and decide what's best as a exit strategy.. Be interesting to see how it develops there, as they're ahead of everyone

"I’m sure China has checked with this forum as the servers will be based out there. And upon consulting the various experts of the fabs forums, they’ve decided that they now can. " agree with this ,there are far too many armchair experts on these forums it's breathtaking !!

"It will be interesting to see what happens, unless the disease is eradicated then I'm assuming it will spread again. I just hope the Chinese are willing to share accurate results so other countries can benefit from the approach " That's my understanding too...

" In my time on here I've never met anyone claim to be an expert on pretty much every issue be that brexit or this current global crisis.. People generally just give their opinions and yes there are some who have real life experiences in most fields so that will come through now and then.. When you find a thread where a poster says 'I am an expert' feel free to let me know and of course I will accept that.. The lack of a structured debating position and getting personal is never a great contribution but hey its a public forum so it attracts all sorts..

"China had an enforced lockdown. And compulsory mask wearing. Taiwan and Korea had the lowest reported cases due to their population wearing masks and gloves. Did the uk." Taiwan and South Korea used very strict monitoring and contact tracing to limit the spread. People here in Uk would never accept the systems the Taiwanese used - just look at how many people cant even take on board the simple instruction to stay indoors

" as an example of how the british may react to a tracking system, there was a thread on here about the idea of an app being used, non-mandatory, that could help in identifying if you were close to possible sources of infection - a very low level tracking system. Needless to say the number of responses that said no they wouldn't sign up to such an app were far greater than those who said they would be ok with it. Its not an exact measure, but does give a flavour of what an overall response would be if scaled up across the country

"So did they take the welds off the doors to the social housing blocks, in case there were any survivors, or just knock the whole building down and call it good?" I was just wondering about this, or have the thousands upon thousands of urns for ashes, suddenly been used for another reason, such as plant pots.

"One city out of lock down but another goes into lock down. Wenzhou Lock down is not a solution, just a delay. As much as some on here hate science the only solution is immunisation, naturally via the spread of the infection in a managed fashion. Or lock down for 18 months followed by compulsory immunisation. " You sure about Wenzhou? It was in lockdown and came out about 1 month ago. No reports that it has gone back into lockdown

"We think the lockdown should stay for a month after no new cases to be sure it has gone. If people came out earlier then went to see grandmas and grandpas who are in the dangerous bracket it could all start again " Really ?

"We think the lockdown should stay for a month after no new cases to be sure it has gone. If people came out earlier then went to see grandmas and grandpas who are in the dangerous bracket it could all start again " It's unlikely to go away for good. It will just become more managable after repeated lockdowns ..
