Have you been changed by Covid19?

As I typed the question I was thinking in terms of wondering if being locked down has changed anyone's perspective in relation to sexual goals....but I'm also thinking why not make it a more open question.....

So if I was to ask you if you have been changed in any way by the covid-19 lockdown. Whats the first thing that pops into your head?

I know it will change any immediate future meets, people will be much more wary in the near future and clubs will be slow to restart..

Think dogging will be a big loser here for the foreseeable future too..

Sounds like the pandemic is causing more problems than people would have thought it would.

Going through career considerations, but not sure if I’ll be able to change anything; too many fixed commitments and too far into my current field to go back to the bottom of a different ladder.

If you have a passion for the other path I wouldn't write it off completely. This could be your best chance to educate yourself on that path with fewer distractions.

I’m 38 years too late (and many £££s too short) for a professional motorsport career and one A-Level, two Degrees and a PhD short of a Physics career.

So unfortunately my ‘other paths’ are gone.

Yes, it has changed me in the sense I appreciate life a lot more. I don't want to be bogged down by stress of what might happens months ahead, I'm enjoying myself in the moment a lot more.

I think sadly we will finally quit the scene. We've had a good run and met some fantastic - and not so fantastic - people but age is creeping up on us, well me..and this has made us realise we don't "need" to play anymore as we have a great bank of memories. (Staying at home getting paid to have afternoon sex has been a bonus even if we will all have to pay for it in the future)

Maybe when it is all over though we might think differently.

Good question.

To answer the second part of the question first, it hasn't really changed me too much, but it has made me realise that I maybe spend too much time on my own anyway, and that when this is over I need to make a concerted effort to reconnect with friends and even to build new circles.

At times, it has made me feel really sad that I don't really have a partner or significant other to be with. I'm OK with the single life normally but abruptly stop me from spending time with friends and take away the chance of spontaneously meeting new people when out and about and all of a sudden it's lonely. Really damn lonely.

In terms of sexual goals it's really rammed it home (ugh) that I should probably be having more of it and that I should be spending my time creating pleasure not bemoaning the lack of it.

On a positive note, I've made more friends and had more quality interactions on here in the last few weeks than in the last couple of years. I just wish I felt confident that those new relationships could last through lockdown and beyond into the future.

Really appreciate your honest openness. Like you I'm pretty comfortable in my own company but recently I have been making more of an effort to reach out to old friends and family members.

Yep I’ve decided to go out to Oz to visit 3 sets of friends next year .... been putting it off cos my son doesn’t want to come so dreaded going on my own .... but after this I’ve realised life’s too bloody short xx

Supermarket stock levels are returning to normal around here (I even saw an aisle full of toilet roll last time I was out!). But we went through a period when just about everything was running out. It gave me a little insight into what it must be like for those people in even more desperate situations: where economies crumble, or civil wars break out, or famines arise. Those for whom it might be weeks or months before they see anything remotely like food security again.

It has not changed me or my attitudes. I have always appreciated every day of good health.. appreciated that there are always others worse off, always tried to help others directly and rarely by donating to charity, always observed and never surprised by human behaviour, not afraid of death but afraid of how I die, taking more time to garden and cook..

Ah, that's nice but I have to say we have had a good run! We started young - pre AIDS worries so barback days and crazy house parties, we evolved our swinging over the years and have loved all of it, certainly have a big bank of memories!

(your picture of you in the red dress though could easily sway us!) Enjoy all life has to offer has never been more apt a saying.
